6月15日 弘法大師空海御誕生の日
本日は、弘法大師空海（お大師様）御誕生の日です。
お大師様は、宝亀5年（774年）6月15日、讃岐国多度郡屏風浦（現在の香川県善通寺市付近）にお生まれになりました。幼名は真魚（まお）と伝えられています。
後に唐へ渡って密教を学ばれ、日本に真言密教を伝えられました。
また、身分に関わらず学ぶことのできる綜芸種智院を開かれ、人々の暮らしを支える満濃池の改修にも尽力されるなど、お大師様のお働きは仏教の世界にとどまりませんでした。
人々の幸せを願い、その生涯を捧げられたお大師様。
千二百年余りを経た今もなお、そのお慈悲とお導きは、多くの人々の心の支えとなっています。
「虚空尽き、衆生尽き、涅槃尽きなば、我が願いも尽きなむ」
人々を悟りへ導こうとするお大師様の願いは、いつまでも変わりません。
「同行二人」の心を忘れることなく、お大師様とともに歩む日々を大切に。

Today marks the birth anniversary of Kūkai (Kobo Daishi), the founder of Shingon Buddhism in Japan.
Born on June 15, 774, in what is now Zentsuji, he devoted his life to seeking wisdom and helping others. After studying in China, he brought Esoteric Buddhism to Japan and shared its teachings with countless people.
Kobo Daishi believed that learning and spiritual growth should be open to everyone. He also worked to improve society through education and public projects that supported local communities.
More than 1,200 years later, his compassion, wisdom, and teachings continue to inspire people around the world.
One of his most famous vows expresses his boundless commitment to all beings:
“My vow to help others will continue as long as there are people who need guidance.”
As we remember Kobo Daishi today, may we cherish the spirit of “Dōgyō Ninin” — walking life’s path together with him, never alone.
