おはようございます。
今朝のディボーションは、エゼキエル33:1-6、詩篇119:33-40、マタイ23:29-36の御言葉です。

「わたしはおまえたちに言う。今から後、『祝福あれ、主の御名によって来られる方に』とおまえたちが言う時が来るまで、決しておまえたちがわたしを見ることはない。」
マタイの福音書　23章39節

父なる神から遣わされた御子、イエス・キリスト。

人々が主イエスを拒み続ける中で、イエス様は、「祝福あれ、主の御名によって来られる方に」と告白する時が来るまで、再び見ることはないと言われました。

罪の赦しと救いのために来られたイエス様。
しかし、私たちは、自分の罪のために、なぜイエス様が十字架にかかり、命まで捨てて私たちを救ってくださったのかを、自分の力では理解することができませんでした。

それが私たちの罪です。
それでも主なる神様は、愛する独り子をお与えになるほどに、私たちを愛してくださいました。

それが、主なる神様がイエス・キリストを遣わされた理由です。

ただ、ただ、愛する私たちを救いたい。
その主なる神様の一方的な愛を理解することのできない私たちでさえ、神様は愛し、救い、生かしてくださいます。

だからこそ、私たちは自分の力に頼るのではなく、福音の御言葉に耳を傾けましょう。

聖霊によって福音を信じる信仰を与えられ、キリストの十字架による罪の赦しを受け取りましょう。
そうするとき、私たちは主によって赦され、救われ、神の子として生かされるのです。

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus Christ, the Son sent by God the Father.

Even as the people continued to reject Him, Jesus said that they would not see Him again until the time came when they would confess, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Jesus came for the forgiveness of sins and for our salvation.

Yet, because of our sin, we were unable to understand by our own strength why Jesus would go to the cross and even give His life to save us.

That is our sin.
And yet, the Lord our God loved us so much that He gave us His beloved Son.

That is why the Lord sent Jesus Christ.
He simply desires to save us, whom He loves.

Even though we cannot fully understand the one-sided, undeserved love of our God, He continues to love us, save us, and sustain our lives.

Therefore, let us not rely on our own strength, but listen to the Word of the Gospel.

Through the Holy Spirit, may we be given faith to believe the Gospel and receive the forgiveness of sins won for us through Christ’s cross.

Then we are forgiven by the Lord, saved by His grace, and given life as His children.

今朝のディボーションは、エゼキエル24:15-27、詩篇119:33-40、ローマ10:15-20の御言葉です。

「ですから、信仰は聞くことから始まります。聞くことは、キリストについてのことばを通して実現するのです。」
ローマ人への手紙　10章17節

信仰。それは、自分の力や技によって得るものではありません。

信仰も、恵みも、すべて主なる神が御言葉を通してお与えくださる賜物だからです。

神の御言葉を通して、父なる神は御子キリストを示し、聖霊はその御言葉によって私たちに信仰を与えてくださいます。三つにいまして一つなる「三位一体」の主なる神様が、御言葉を通して私たちに働いてくださるのです。

「しかし、すべての人が福音に従ったのではありません。『主よ。私たちが聞いたことを、だれが信じたか』とイザヤは言っています。」
ローマ人への手紙　10章16節

背きの罪を犯し、主なる神様から離れていた罪人である私たち。

しかし主なる神様は、御子イエス・キリストが救い主であり、神がイエスを死から復活させられたと信じることで救われる、と語っておられます。

「なんと美しいことか、良い知らせを伝える人たちの足は」と書いてあるように、使徒パウロも主の福音を宣べ伝えました（ローマ10:15）。

今朝の私たちにも、聖書の御言葉が、愛と命と真理である御言葉が与えられています。

「ご覧ください。私はあなたの戒めを慕っています。あなたの義のわざにより私を生かしてください。」詩篇　119篇40節

今日も、主の御言葉を受け、与えられた信仰と豊かな主の恵みに満たされて、主と共に歩ませていただきましょう。

This morning’s devotion is based on Ezekiel 24:15–27, Psalm 119:33–40, and Romans 10:15–20.

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Faith is not something we acquire through our own strength or abilities.

Faith and grace are gifts that the Lord God graciously gives us through His Word.

Through His Word, God the Father reveals His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit works through that Word to create and sustain faith in us. The Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three Persons yet one God—works in us through His Word.

“But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We are sinners who have rebelled against God and turned away from Him.

Yet the Lord God tells us that we are saved by believing that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is our Savior, and that God raised Jesus from the dead.

As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” The apostle Paul likewise proclaimed the good news of the Lord (Romans 10:15).

This morning, the Word of God is also given to us through Holy Scripture—the Word that brings us love, life, and truth.

“How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today, too, let us receive the Word of the Lord and walk with Him, filled with the faith He has given us and with the abundance of His grace.

おはようございます。
今日の聖書日課は、エゼキエル24:1-14、詩篇119:33-40、2コリント12:11-21の御言葉です。

「むなしいものを見ないように私の目をそらせあなたの道に私を生かしてください。」
詩篇　119篇37節

私たちの、背きの罪は、火にかけられた錆びつく鍋のようです。

「鍋を空にして炭火にかけ、その銅を熱くして、その中の汚れを溶かし、さびがなくなるようにせよ。しかし、その骨折りは無駄であった。そのひどいさびはそれから落ちず、そのさびは、なお火の中にあった。」
エゼキエル書　24章11～12節

いくら鍋が真っ赤になるまで火にかけても、厚い錆は決して取り除かれることはありません。

主なる神は、言われます。「偶像を拝むあなたの罪を悔い改め、主に立ち返り、あなたがたのすべての背きから身を翻せ。不義に引き込まれることがないようにせよ。」(エゼキエル18:30)と。

私たち自身の力や努力によっては取り去ることのできない、錆のようにこびり付いた私たちの罪。

しかし、その罪を取り除き、赦してくださるのは、十字架の木の上で命をささげ、血を流されたイエス・キリストだけです。

主なる神は、私たちの罪を贖い、赦すため、私たちの身代わりとして御子イエス・キリストを十字架につけ、その尊い命を罪の裁きのためにささげてくださったのです。

キリストの命と流された血によって、私たちの罪は赦されました。

十字架にかかって死なれ、三日目に復活されたキリストによって、罪人である私たちは救われたのです。

今日も、十字架と復活の主は私たちと共にいてくださいます。そして私たちと共に、新しい一日の一歩を、新しい命の歩みを始めてくださるのです。

今日も、ただ一人の救い主であり、主なる神であるお方だけを見つめ、与えられた信仰によって、愛と救われた命の恵みに生かされ、新たな一日を歩ませていただきましょう。

Today’s Scripture readings are Ezekiel 24:1–14, Psalm 119:33–40, and 2 Corinthians 12:11–21.

“Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭37‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Our sins of rebellion are like a rusty pot placed over a blazing fire.

“Then set the empty pot on the coals till it becomes hot and its copper glows, so that its impurities may be melted and its deposit burned away. It has frustrated all efforts; its heavy deposit has not been removed, not even by fire.”Ezekiel‬ ‭24‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

No matter how long the pot is heated until it becomes red-hot, its thick rust cannot be removed.

The Lord God says, “Repent of your sin of worshiping idols, return to the Lord, and turn away from all your offenses, so that sin will not become your downfall.” (Ezekiel 18:30)

Our sin clings to us like rust and cannot be removed by our own strength or efforts.

Yet there is One who can remove our sin and forgive us: Jesus Christ alone, who gave His life and shed His blood upon the cross.

The Lord God, in order to redeem and forgive our sins, gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as our substitute. He was nailed to the cross and gave His precious life to bear the judgment for our sins.

Through Christ’s life and His shed blood, our sins have been forgiven.

Through Christ, who died on the cross and was raised from the dead on the third day, we who were sinners have been saved.

Today, the Lord of the cross and resurrection is with us. He walks with us as we take each new step into this new day, beginning again in the new life He has given us.

“Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭37‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today, let us look to the one and only Savior and Lord, our God. By the faith He has given us, may we be sustained by the grace of the life we have been saved into, and may we walk through this new day in His love and grace.

おはようございます。
今朝のディボーションは、エレミヤ17:5-18、詩篇17、マタイ12:22-32の御言葉です。

「また、人の子に逆らうことばを口にする者でも赦されます。しかし、聖霊に逆らうことを言う者は、この世でも次に来る世でも赦されません。」マタイの福音書　12章32節

悪魔を追い出し、病を癒やされるイエス様。

「この方こそメシアかもしれない」と言う人々がいる中、ファリサイ派の人々は「嫌！奴は悪霊の頭ベルゼブルだ！悪霊の力で悪霊を追い出している」と言います。

それに対してイエス様は、「サタンが内輪もめなどしません。わたしが神の力で悪霊を追い出しているのです。もう既に神の国はあなたたちのところに来ているのです」と言われました。

そしてその後で、「わたしを悪く言っても赦されるが、主なる神の働きを悪霊の働きのように言い、聖霊に逆らい、冒涜する者は永遠に赦されない」と言われました。

もう既に神の御国は到来しています。

主なる神に背き、神の御心に逆らって生きてきた私たちの罪を赦し、罪の奴隷から贖い出し、お救いくださる救い主、イエス様が、人の子としてお生まれになりました。

そして約二千年前、イエス・キリストの十字架による救いの御業は成し遂げられました。十字架から三日目に復活されたイエス・キリストは、今日も生きておられ、御言葉によって私たちに罪の赦しを与え、私たちを救い、聖霊による新しい命を与え続けてくださっているのです。

私たちの心は罪によってねじ曲がり、自分の力では神を正しく信じることもできません。しかし、「信じない者ではなく、信じる者になりなさい」（ヨハネ20:27）とイエス様が言われたように、主は私たちの罪を赦し、罪の奴隷となっていた私たちを贖い出し、御言葉と聖霊によって信仰の賜物を与え、救ってくださったのです。

「人の心は何よりもねじ曲がっている。それは癒やしがたい。だれが、それを知り尽くすことができるだろうか。わたし、主が心を探り、心の奥を試し、それぞれその生き方により、行いの実にしたがって報いる。」
エレミヤ書　17章9～10節

だからこそ今日も、

「私を癒やしてください、主よ。そうすれば、私は癒やされます。私をお救いください。そうすれば、私は救われます。あなたこそ、私の賛美だからです。」エレミヤ書17章14節

この主の御言葉のように、信じない者ではなく、主を信じる者としていただき、主と共に生かされてまいりましょう。

私たちの祈りの叫びを聞かれ、私たちの罪を正しく裁き、そして私たちを赦し、キリストによってお救いくださる主なる神様が、今日もあなたと共にありますように。
主の御名によってお祈りします。アーメン。

This morning’s devotion is based on Jeremiah 17:5–18, Psalm 17, and Matthew 12:22–32.

“Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus casts out demons and heals the sick.

While some people say, “Could this be the Messiah?”, the Pharisees say, “No! He is the ruler of demons, Beelzebul! He drives out demons by the power of the ruler of demons.”

Jesus responds, “Satan does not fight against himself. I cast out demons by the power of God. Therefore, the kingdom of God has already come upon you.”

Jesus then says that a person may be forgiven for speaking against Him, but whoever calls the work of God the work of demons, resisting and blaspheming the Holy Spirit, will not be forgiven.

The kingdom of God has already come.

Jesus, the Savior who forgives our sins, who delivers us from slavery to sin, and who saves us, was born as the Son of Man.

And about two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ completed His saving work on the cross. On the third day He rose again from the dead. Jesus Christ is alive even today, and through His Word He continues to give us the forgiveness of sins, salvation, and new life through the Holy Spirit.

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.””Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Our hearts have been twisted by sin, and in our own strength we cannot rightly believe in God. Yet, as Jesus said, “Do not be unbelieving, but believing” (John 20:27), the Lord forgives our sins, redeems us from slavery to sin, and gives us the gift of faith through His Word and the Holy Spirit, thereby saving us.

Therefore, even today, let us pray with the words of Jeremiah 17:14:

“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

May we not remain in unbelief, but be made into people who trust in the Lord and live each day with Him.

May the Lord our God, who hears the cries of our prayers, who judges our sins rightly, and who forgives us and saves us through Christ, be with you today.
We pray in the name of the Lord. Amen.

おはようございます。
今日の御言葉は、2サムエル11:27b-12:15、詩篇17、黙示録3:7-13です。

「しかし私は義のうちに御顔を仰ぎ見目覚めるとき御姿に満ち足りるでしょう。」
詩篇　17篇15節

ヒッタイト人ウリヤの妻バト・シェバを奪い取り、姦通した罪をもみ消しにしたダビデ。

しかし主なる神はご存知です。主はナタンを通して罪を示されました。

"ダビデはナタンに言った。『私は主の前に罪ある者です。』ナタンはダビデに言った。『主も、あなたの罪を取り去ってくださった。あなたは死なない。』」サムエル記第二　12章13節

罪を告白するダビデ。
主なる神は、ダビデの命を取る事はされませんでしたが、「今や剣は、とこしえまでもあなたの家から離れない。」(2サムエル12:10)、と主が言われた通り、その罪がもたらした地上における厳しい結果まで取り去られたわけではありません。その結果、二人の間に生まれた子の死という、深い悲しみと苦しみを経験したのです。

私たちも罪ある者として生まれてきました。
数えきれないほどの罪を犯し、悔い改めることなく生きてきました。

隠し切ることなどできない罪、ましてや自分の力ではどうすることもできない私たちの罪と咎。その行き着く先は永遠の滅びです。

しかし主なる神は、そのような私たちを見捨てず、主なる神の愛する独り子イエス・キリストを私たちの罪の身代わりとしてお与えくださったのです。

そのすべてを御子キリストが背負い、十字架につけられ、ご自身の命を献げて、私たちの罪を赦し、救ってくださいました。

主イエス・キリストは三日目によみがえり、今も生きて、私たちに悔い改めと信仰を与え、罪の赦しと、永遠の命の救いへ御言葉によって導いてくださいます。

「わたしはあなたの行いを知っている。見よ。わたしは、だれも閉じることができない門を、あなたの前に開いておいた。あなたには少しばかりの力があって、わたしのことばを守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。」
ヨハネの黙示録　3章8節

主なる神は、私たちのすべてをご存じであり、それでもなお罪人である私たちを愛し、キリストにあって赦してくださる方です。

悔い改めるとは、自分の罪を認め、神に立ち返り、キリストの赦しを信じることです。

「しかし私は義のうちに御顔を仰ぎ見目覚めるとき御姿に満ち足りるでしょう。」
詩篇　17篇15節

今日、私たちも、「主の前に罪ある者です。」と罪を認め、神の赦しに立ち返らせていただき、主を信じ、主と共に生かされる者とされてまいりましょう。

Today’s Scripture readings are 2 Samuel 11:27b–12:15, Psalm 17, and Revelation 3:7–13.

“As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

David took Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite, and committed adultery with her. He then tried to cover up his sin.

But the Lord God knew what David had done. Through Nathan, the Lord revealed David’s sin to him.

“Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.”2 Samuel‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

David confessed his sin.
The Lord did not take David’s life. However, just as the Lord had said, “Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house” (2 Samuel 12:10), the Lord did not remove the painful earthly consequences brought about by David’s sin. As a result, David experienced deep sorrow and suffering through the death of the child born to him and Bathsheba.

We too were born as sinners.
We have committed countless sins and have lived without repentance.

Our sins cannot be hidden from God. We are completely unable to deal with our sin and guilt by our own strength. The end of sin is eternal destruction.

But the Lord God did not abandon us in our sinful condition. He gave His beloved only Son, Jesus Christ, to be our substitute and to bear our sins.

Christ bore all our sins upon Himself. He was nailed to the cross and gave His own life for us, forgiving our sins and saving us.

The Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day and is alive even now. He gives us repentance and faith and, through His Word, leads us into the salvation of the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Lord God knows everything about us. Yet even though we are sinners, He loves us and forgives us in Christ.

To repent means to acknowledge our sins, turn back to God, and trust in the forgiveness that Christ gives.

“As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today, let us also acknowledge our sins and confess, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Let us return to God’s forgiveness, trust in the Lord, and continue to live with Him.

おはようございます。
今朝のディボーションは、2サムエル11:2-16、詩篇17、黙示録3:1-6の御言葉です。

「耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に告げることを聞きなさい。」ヨハネの黙示録　3章6節

「また、サルディスにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。」と始まるヨハネの黙示録3章。

サルディスの教会への手紙の中には、
叱責は大変厳しく、「わたしはあなたの行いを知っている。あなたは、生きているとは名ばかりで、実は死んでいる。」(黙示録3:1)と、厳しい叱責の言葉が記され、主に立ち返りなさいと悔い改めに導かれます。

「主よ聞いてください正しい訴えを。耳に留めてください私の叫びを。耳に入れてください私の祈りを。これらは欺きの唇から出たものではありません。」詩篇　17篇1節

こう主なる神様に祈り訴える、ダビデ王でさえ水浴びをしていた美しい女性バト・シェバに、目を奪われ、欲望の誘惑に負け、罪を犯してしまうのです。

私たちはどうでしょうか。
口では主に信仰を言い表しながら、心の中の信仰は死んでいないでしょうか。

そうなのです。私たちこそ主に背を向け、主から離れて生きてしまう罪人なのです。

だからこそ、主なる神様は、御子イエス・キリストを私たちにお与えくださいました。

全き罪なき人の子としてお与えくださったキリストの命を、私たちの罪の身代わりとして十字架の上に献げ、赦し、お救いくださったのです。

三日目に復活された主イエス・キリストは今日も生きておられます。

今日もあなたと共にいて、御言葉によって悔い改めへと導き、御言葉によって信仰の賜物を与え、御言葉により聖霊の命の恵みを注ぎ続けてくださる主なる神様。

だからこそ主によって救われた私たちは、今日も主なる神様が一方的にお与えくださる主の御言葉の恵みを、行いによるのではなく、ただ信じて受け取ることができるのです。

「肉によって生まれた者は肉です。御霊によって生まれた者は霊です。」
ヨハネの福音書　3章6節

「耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に告げることを聞きなさい。」ヨハネの黙示録　3章6節

今日も変わらぬ主の愛と、御恵みが豊かにありますように。
主イエス・キリストの御名によってお祈りします。アーメン。

Good morning.
This morning’s devotion is based on 2 Samuel 11:2–16, Psalm 17, and Revelation 3:1–6.

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Revelation chapter 3 begins, “To the angel of the church in Sardis write.”

In the letter to the church in Sardis, the Lord gives a very severe rebuke: “I know your works. You have a reputation for being alive, but you are dead.” (Revelation 3:1) These strong words of rebuke call the church to return to the Lord and lead them to repentance.

“Hear me, Lord, my plea is just; listen to my cry. Hear my prayer— it does not rise from deceitful lips.”Psalms‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Even King David, who prayed and pleaded with the Lord God in this way, saw Bathsheba, a beautiful woman who was bathing, and became captivated by her. He gave in to the temptation of his desire and fell into sin.

What about us?
Although we confess our faith in the Lord with our lips, could it be that our faith has become dead in our hearts?

Yes, we too are sinners who turn our backs on the Lord and live apart from Him.

And that is precisely why the Lord God gave us His Son, Jesus Christ.

God gave us Christ, the Son of Man, completely without sin. He offered His life on the cross as the substitute for our sins, and through Him He forgave us and saved us.

The Lord Jesus Christ, who was raised from the dead on the third day, is alive even today.

He is with you today. Through His Word, He leads you to repentance; through His Word, He gives you the gift of faith; and through His Word, He continues to pour out upon you the grace of life through the Holy Spirit. He is our Lord and God.

Therefore, because we have been saved by the Lord, we can today simply believe and receive the grace of His Word, which the Lord God freely and graciously gives to us—not by our works, but by faith.

“Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.”John‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

おはようございます。
今朝の聖書日課は、エレミヤ15:10-14、詩篇26:1-8、マタイ8:14-17の御言葉です。

これは、預言者イザヤを通して語られたことが成就するためであった。「彼は私たちのわずらいを担い、私たちの病を負った。」
マタイの福音書　8章17節

イエス様はペテロの家に行き、ペテロの姑の病気を癒やされました。また、病の人々を癒やされ、悪霊に取り憑かれた人々を救い、福音の御言葉を語り教えられました。

それは、ただ病などの表面的な問題を癒やされただけではありません。人間が生まれながらに負っている罪という、人生最大の問題から私たちを救い出し、生かしてくださる主なる神様からの最大の恵みです。

その最大の恵みこそ、御子イエス・キリストによる十字架と復活の救いです。

主は言われた。「必ずわたしはあなたを解き放って、幸せにする。必ずわたしは、わざわいの時、苦難の時に、敵があなたにとりなしを頼むようにする。」エレミヤ書　15章11節

私たちには、どうすることもできない罪と咎という最大の重荷があります。しかし主なる神様は、私たちの罪と咎を身代わりとなって負ってくださったキリストによって、私たちを罪から解き放ち、救い出してくださると約束されたのです。

「イエスは彼女の手に触れられた。すると熱がひき、彼女は起きてイエスをもてなした。」
マタイの福音書　8章15節

「感謝の声を響き渡らせて語り告げます。あなたの奇しいみわざのすべてを。主よ私は愛します。あなたの住まいのある所あなたの栄光のとどまる所を。」詩篇　26篇7～8節

私たちの罪のため、十字架の上にそのいのちを献げられた神の御子イエス・キリストは、三日目に蘇り、生きて今日も私たちを赦し、救い、御言葉によって導いてくださいます。

今日も、いのちをかけて与えてくださった最大の恵みである、十字架と復活の主イエス・キリストによって立ち上がらせていただき、導かれながら、信仰の人生を共に歩ませていただきましょう。

Good morning.
Today’s Scripture readings are Jeremiah 15:10–14, Psalm 26:1–8, and Matthew 8:14–17.

“This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus went to Peter’s house and healed Peter’s mother-in-law from her illness.

Jesus healed those who were sick, delivered those who were possessed by demons, and proclaimed and taught the Word of the Gospel.

Yet He did not merely heal the outward problems of illness and suffering. He came to save us from the greatest problem of all—the sin that we bear from birth—and to give us life. This is the greatest grace given to us by the Lord our God.

And this greatest grace is the salvation accomplished for us through the cross and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

“The Lord said, “Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will make your enemies plead with you in times of disaster and times of distress.””Jeremiah‬ ‭15‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We carry a burden we can do nothing to remove: our sin and guilt. Yet the Lord our God has promised to set us free from sin and deliver us through Christ, who took our sins and guilt upon Himself in our place.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.”Psalms‬ ‭26‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave His life on the cross for our sins. He rose again on the third day, and He lives today to forgive us, save us, and guide us through His Word.

Today, let us walk together in the life of faith, being raised up and guided by Jesus Christ, our Lord of the cross and resurrection—the greatest grace He has given us by laying down His life for us.
