Dear supporters and friends, we have wonderful news to share with you.

Ms. Masami Saionji received an International Peace Award from President Dr. Arif Alvi of Pakistan.

Ms. Masami Saionji could not be present in person to accept the prestigious International Peace Award. Fr James Channan OP received her award in her stead, with the greatest honor.

An International Interfaith Peace Conference titled “Respect of Humanity and its Importance” was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on November 24th. The chief guest of honor, President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, along with several Ambassadors, Federal and Provincial Ministers, and some 300 other religious leaders and peace activists attended the event representing the Muslim, Christian, Hindu, and Sikh communities. The event was organized and hosted by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Grand Imam of Badshahi Mosque.

President Alvi spoke about the spirit of unity in diversity stressing that all religions of the world emphasized promoting peace and tolerance for the betterment of mankind. He also highlighted the challenges and difficulties of promoting dialogue among religions and threats of extremism and discrimination in the name of religion which can be solved through interfaith harmony and dialogue.

Masami Saionji received the Luxembourg Peace Prize

On Friday, 14 June 2019, peace activists from around the world gathered at the historic European Parliament Schuman Building in Luxembourg to celebrate the 2019 Luxembourg Peace Prize Laureates.
One of the laureates in “Outstanding peace activists” category was also Masami Saionji for her dedication and work for peace.

Hand in Hand, Korea 2019

On 27th Masami Saionji and Rika Saionji participated in a wonderful event that happened along the borders between South and North Korea. This event was called Hand in Hand, in which about 200 000 thousand people joined hands along the border between the two countries, singing songs of peace and sending wishes for unity and oneness between the two countries.

On previous day Masami Saionji and Rika Saionji took part in the International peace conference which took place in the Border Peace School. Various presenters talked about peace activities, women’s role and importance in the peace process and the actual situation between the two countries.
