"Candles Night in Shuzenji Hot Spring" will be held from August 16 (Wed) to 20 (Sun) and 22 (Tue) - 27 (Sun) at Shuzenji in Izu-shi. The Shuzenji is illuminated by a soft light of candles, which feels like you are in a mystical world.

Shuzenji

Ancient Buddist temple said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi(a great teacher of Buddhism)in AC807.The statue of Dainichi Nyorai to which this temple is dedicated is an important cultural property of Japan. Shuzenji is also known as the temple where Minamoto-no Yoriie, the second sh**un of the Kamakura Era, was imprisoned.
