With the holidays coming up we’ll be initiating some craft events at the church for both children and adults but for the long term future we’re going to need a separate facility to do all the different kinds of activities we want to do. The pictures here are of a building we would like to secure for use for that future.

This came on my radar through connections I have in the local community. It sits on public land and is available for rent on a yearly basis at a ridiculously low price. The building comes with the rental and you can see it’s quite spacious. It hasn’t been used for about 4 years and it needs some work done on it but it’s in relatively good shape. The first floor needs to be cleared out and would be used for woodworking activities, both teaching and producing products. The second floor would be used to teach various kinds of crafts, English w/music and cooking as it comes with a moderate size kitchen. It’s situated right across from a large campground so our wide variety of woodcraft DIY goods and events would be very attractive to such individuals. Also there’s a hot springs hotel very close by where I’ve already contacted the staff in arranging some kind of activities there.
Of course the local and surrounding communities will be our main focus

This is a great opportunity and I pray many of you might help me raise the funds by purchasing products on our sites or direct donations to this ministry. This is a kind of “go fund me” or “kickstarter” request as I’d like to raise around $10,000. This would cover yearly rental fee, additional wood working equipment and materials, craft stocks and building repairs including some heating units as winter approaches, perhaps a simple wood burning stove for the shop area.

This may seem a bit ambitious as we’re just getting started with this ministry but I believe it will show just how serious we are in making a real difference in the lives of those we are attempting to reach with the Gospel and for Christ. Thank you for your consideration.

ホリデーシーズンを前に、教会では子どもから大人まで楽しめるクラフトイベントを始める予定ですが、長期的には、私たちがやりたいさまざまな活動を行うための別の施設が必要になってきます。この写真は、そのために確保したい建物の写真です。

この建物は、私が地元に持つコネクションを通じて目に留まったものです。公有地内にあり、年単位でとんでもない低価格で借りることができます。建物もついていて、かなり広いのがおわかりいただけると思います。4年ほど使用していないので、多少の手直しは必要ですが、比較的良好な状態です。1階は片付けが必要ですが、木工の指導と製品製作に使用します。2階は手芸、英語、音楽、料理などの教室として、また、適度な大きさのキッチンがありますので、料理教室としてもご利用いただけます。大きなキャンプ場の向かいにあるので、木工のDIYグッズやイベントも充実しているのが魅力です。また、すぐ近くに温泉ホテルがあり、そこで何かアクティビティができないか、すでにスタッフに連絡を取っています。
もちろん、地元や周辺地域が主なターゲットになります。

これは素晴らしい機会です。多くの方が、私たちのサイトで製品を購入したり、このミニストリーに直接寄付をすることで、資金調達に協力してくださることを祈っています。これは「go fund me」または「kickstarter」のようなもので、1万ドルほど集めたいと考えています。この資金で、年間レンタル料、木工用具や材料の追加、工芸品の在庫、建物の修理、冬が近づくにつれ暖房器具、ショップエリア用の簡易薪ストーブなどを賄うことができます。

Spending part of my morning mowing the extensive lawn we have here at the church and will do the trimming the next day. This may seem like a small thing but to our neighbors and other non christians just passing by the outside of the church it’s their initial impression of the church. If we want to get them inside for some occasion we need to make a good impression on them any chance we can. Part of this ministry will be to do church maintenance for not only our own church but other bible teaching churches that need the help, after all we are all part of the same family.

We built this main building ourselves in 1996 with help from a number of building teams from churches supporting us from the states. I was the lead carpenter and on site supervisor on the project, and have done a number of remodels on it as well.

This initial post is a bit long but please take the time to read through to the end for a good basic idea of what this ministry is about and how we are here to serve Christ and His church and the surrounding communities.

This is where all ministries must begin and end if they are to be effective in serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. From that viewpoint I look to 1st Corinthians 9:19&22: 19)"For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more." 22) I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some." From the Lord Jesus's own lips He made clear who are His disciples and in Matthew 28:18-20 what we are to do as His disciples. Paul, as a disciple and apostle, help to create the means to go about the task of making disciples by his example when he said "Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ" 1st Corinthians 11:1.

My name is Stuart Kadlec, I am not a "professional missionary" but after living here in Japan for 38 years and serving the church since 1987 I have long realized that engagement in a wide variety of ways, first and foremost the accurate preaching of the Gospel, is the key to reaching the Japanese people in a truly significant way. Hoping they walk through the door of our churches through events held only once or twice a year is a recipe for failure. In 2017 we started an English worship service which I have run and taught the Word of God once a month and will be increasing that to twice a month in September. In the fall of 2020 we lost our Japanese pastor and some of the men in the church have taken up the task of preaching which I’m also hoping to do as well in Japanese. We also need to engage those who are already part of the family of God more frequently than just on Sunday mornings, to build them up in their faith and love for the Lord. These past 2 years have been so difficult for most of us and especially for churches around the world, devastatingly so here in Japan. We must start healing in the body of Christ and reaching outside of it , and that is our "soul" mission here.

私の名前はキャドレックスチュアートです私は「プロの宣教師」ではありませんが、38年間日本に住み、1987年から教会で奉仕してきた経験から、様々な方法で関わり、何よりもまず福音を正確に伝えることが、日本の人々に本当に大きな影響を与える鍵であることを長い間理解してきました。年に1、2回のイベントを通して、教会に足を運んでくれることを期待するのは、失敗のもとです。また、すでに神の家族の一員である人々にも、日曜の朝だけでなく、もっと頻繁に関わり、彼らの信仰と主への愛を高めていく必要があります。この2年間は、私たちの多くにとって、また世界中の教会にとって、特にここ日本では壊滅的なほど困難なものでした。私たちは、キリストの体の中で癒しを始め、体の外で手を差し伸べなければなりません。それが、私たちの「魂」のミッションです。

The Lord has gifted me with a wide variety of skills which I have to this date used in service to His church and in providing for my family consisting of my wife Yuriko who is Japanese and our 4 children who are now grown up with their own families. I was a music teacher in the states and have been an English teacher here part time for more than 35 years. I’m also a trained craftsman, furniture maker and carpenter and at my page called Country Wood Creations you can see some of my work there. Have worked in the restaurant business as well as a chef. Lastly as an artist, somewhere I never thought the Lord would take me. I only mention these so you can understand what I can bring to the table in order to engage the local community. I am creating a number of programs and events in woodworking, teaching English through music and crafts, bilingual classes for cooking and crafts. I want to bring others onboard to expand this outreach and involve churches in the states both directly and indirectly with future programs.

主は私に様々な技能を授けてくださり、それを今日まで教会への奉仕と、日本人の妻ゆり子と成人してそれぞれの家庭を持つ4人の子供たちのために使ってきました。私はアメリカで音楽の教師をしていましたが、35年以上前からここでパートタイムで英語の教師をしています。また、私は家具職人、大工としても訓練を受けており、私のFacebookページ「Country Wood Creations」では、私の作品のいくつかを見ることができます。また、レストランでシェフとして働いた経験もあります。最後に、アーティストとして、主が私を連れて行くとは思ってもみなかった場所に行きました。これらは、私が地域社会に貢献できることを理解していただくためのものです。私は、木工、音楽と工芸を通しての英語教育、料理と工芸のためのバイリンガル教室など、さまざまなプログラムやイベントを作っています。将来的には、他の人たちを巻き込んでこの活動を拡大し、アメリカ国内の教会を直接・間接的に巻き込んでいきたいと思っています。

I’ll be creating a web page in the not too distant future to post all the activities and the work the Lord is doing both inside and outside the church. In the meantime I have this page to do that and also to ask you to join me and future partners in these endeavors in doing the Lord’s work here. I’ve set up another page called CWC CRAFTS in order to support this “tent making ministry”. Like Paul the Apostle I hope to support myself by means of my own hands and the outright gifts of those brothers and sisters who see this labor of love in service to Christ and His Gospel worthy of such support. In 1992 I was ready to go back to the states until the Holy Spirit stopped me dead in my tracks. He had brought me to faith here in Japan in order I might serve Him here, and so here I remain.
