كاثدرائية مار جورجيوس المظفر + Pope Benedict XVI described the Cathedral as the "pearl" in the heart of Amman.

This Greek Melkite Catholic Cathedral was built under the reign of his Majesty the king Abdullah bin al Hussein II, by + Archbishop George Al-Murr, the Greek Catholic Archbishop of Petra, Philadelphia and all Transjordan, as + His Beatitude Patriarch Gregorios III laid its cornerstone in 2005. This Cathedral was designed by his excellency Architect Karim Abdulnour Haddad (SEEM Engineering Company), and the cathedral is considered as one of the largest cathedral's in the middle east as its golden doom reaches up in the sky 32 meters, and can easily have up to one thousand and six hundred worshipers.
