(Be A True Worshipper And Refuse To Be Offended)

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Proverbs 19:11 NIV “A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense”

In Mark 7, the Syrophenician woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit could have been offended at Jesus’ statement. She had cried after the Master for help, and in their ensuing dialogue, Jesus said, “Woman, it’s not right for us to give the children’s bread to dogs” (Mark 7:27 paraphrased). The woman could have thought aloud, “How could He call me a dog, just because I’m asking him for help? Is this how He talks to people?” But no; she was smarter than that. In a remarkable display of humility, she replied, “…Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs” (Mark 7:28 paraphrased). Consequently, she got her miracle! Why wasn’t she offended by the Master’s statement? She had the heart of a true worshipper!

As a true worshipper, you don’t care what anyone says to or about you; you don’t care how anyone treats you. All that matters to you is your love for the Lord and your desire to please Him. Always remember that it’s to your glory to overlook an offence. Don’t say, “I can’t take that insult for any reason!” You’ve been decorated with honour and kingdom dignity; no one, and nothing, can dishonour you.

Loving heavenly Father, thank you for the counsel in your Word. I submit myself wholly to your Word, to walk in your righteousness always, showing forth your divine virtues in me. My heart is full of love and humility, and continually, your character and personality are revealed in and through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

10 THINGS WE MUST UNDERSTAND

1. Being a member of a Church is not the same as being a Christian. Christians go to Church but not all who go to Church are Christians.

2. Entering a man's house doesn't necessarily make you a family member. In the same way, entering God's house every Church day doesn't necessarily make you a member of God's family, you need to be born again.

3. Calling Jesus Lord doesn't necessarily mean He is your Lord. The evidence that Jesus is your Lord is your obedience to His word. "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" (Luke 6:46).

4. The fact that you believe in the existence of God doesn't necessarily mean you are saved. "Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror" (James 2:19).

5. You can choose how you want to live before death but you can't choose the consequence of how you lived after death. ''Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning" (1Cor. 15:34).

6. No one encounters Christ and remains the same. If nothing has changed since you met Christ then it wasn't Christ that you met. Don't be deceived!

7. Works cannot save anyone but anyone who is saved cannot hind his works. The evidence of your salvation is seen in the life you live out. "Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works" (James 2:26).

8. The world is changing but God hasn't changed His word to fit our changing world. Don't change the word of God to suit your actions, change your actions to suit the word of God.

9. Hebrews 9:27 says ''man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.'' If it's true that people die then it's also true that there is judgment after death. Don't live as if there is no judgment.

10. The more you celebrate your birthday the closer you get to your deathday. You may know how much years you've spent but the time left is a mystery. Live everyday as if it's your last day.
