The doctor with broken shoes

Padre Pio is a great Saint. He was and still is a magnet for people all over the world. Learning about the people who surrounded him inspires all of us to put ourselves on the path to sainthood. Doctor Guglielmo Sanguinetti, one of these great devotees, renounced to everything for our beloved Saint, even being a full-time doctor. In this book you will find out more about Dr Sanguinetti and how he came to be Padre Pio’s right arm in the building of the Home for the Relief of Suffering Hospital. The title refers to a particular episode that took place one day near the hospital building site, but no spoilers, just dive in and enjoy hanging out with them.

Padre Pio and a woman who suffered in great pain

"A woman went to see Father Pio asking him: tell me father, why am I so sick?" Been for 30 years. It's true that I can perform my duties, but only in great pain.

To which he replied: That is a great favor, the Lord
has chosen you to suffer! You've got two brothers
living a really bad life, and your other relatives aren't
much better. For the salvation of their souls you will
suffer for two more years, after which you will be
healed. You will have saved all those souls then.
Every suffering is a favor, although it is not
understood that way."
