We are an international congregation, coming from many countries of the world to participate in evangelization by “missionary presence, by living and proclaiming the Gospel, by apostolic service” (SMSM Constitutions 14). Gathered together from different backgrounds and nationalities, we respond to the call to universal mission. “In respect and dialogue, we try to be bonds of communion between peo

ples, races and cultures, and witnesses to universal love” (ibid. 22). In the course of our history, our congregation has been known by several different names – at the beginning - Sisters of Charity of the Third Order of Mary, and later Sisters of the Third Order Regular of Mary. Since our official approbation as a congregation of pontifical right in 1931 our official name is Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary. Today in some countries we are known simply as the “SMSM” sisters, or as the “Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary”.

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. ✨

Today, we joyfully celebrate the birth of Mary, the humble woman chosen by God to become the Mother of our Savior. Her birth reminds us that God prepares His plans quietly and faithfully, even through the smallest beginnings. Mary’s life teaches us to trust God, to welcome His grace, and to say our own generous “Yes” to His call. May Mary, our Mother and guide, help us to become, like her, humble instruments of God’s love and messengers of the Gospel. 🙏

Celebrating 60 Years of Faithful Love!

With hearts filled with joy and gratitude, we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Religious Profession of our dear Sisters, Sr. M. Sebastiana Peli and Sr. M. Luigina Armanelli ✨

Sixty years ago, you courageously said “Yes” to the Lord and entrusted your lives completely to His loving hands. Today, as we celebrate this beautiful milestone, we give thanks to God for the gift of your vocation and for the countless ways in which your lives have been a blessing to our religious family and to all those whom you have served.

May Mary, our Mother and faithful companion, continue to walk beside you, strengthen you in every moment, and lead you ever closer to her Son, Jesus.

Tanti auguri, care sorelle! Che il Signore vi benedica sempre e vi accompagni nel vostro cammino. 🙏❤️

En ce jour de la fête de saint Louis, roi de France, prions, par l’intercession des saints de France, et tout particulièrement des saints maristes et de nos Pionnières, afin qu’ils intercèdent pour le Saint-Père à l’occasion de sa prochaine visite apostolique en France.

Que leurs prières accompagnent son voyage, fortifient sa mission et nous inspirent pour que nous soyons des témoins fidèles du Christ, bâtisseurs d’unité, d’espérance et de paix.

Célébration d'adieu a Sœur Annick Bourget, SMSM 🙏

La vie de Sœur Annick a été un beau chemin de SMSM : service humble et généreux. De Pikine, au Sénégal, aux communautés de Marignane, Vitrolles, Lyon et Paris, elle a vécu chaque mission avec disponibilité, fidélité et amour.

Elle a servi comme membre de communauté, maîtresse des novices, supérieure locale et supérieure provinciale. Quelle que soit la responsabilité qui lui était confiée, elle s’y donnait de tout cœur, toujours prête à accompagner, guider, encourager et prendre soin de ses sœurs.

Petite par la taille, mais grande par le cœur, Sœur Annick a planté des graines de bonté, de fidélité et d’amour partout où elle est passée. ❤️

Puisse tout ce qu’elle a semé par sa présence discrète, son service fidèle et son amour profond continuer à porter du fruit dans la vie des nombreuses personnes qu’elle a touchées.

À Dieu, Annick. Que Marie t'accompagne et que le Seigneur t’accueille dans sa paix et sa lumière. 🙏❤️
