❤️ ALWAYS CHOOSE SOMEONE WHO RESPECTS YOU. ❤️

Fr. Jeffrey reminds us of something important: love is not only about feelings. True love also requires respect.

You can love someone deeply, but when respect is missing, even the strongest feelings can eventually become a source of pain.

A healthy relationship is built by two people who understand the value of dignity, patience, honesty, kindness, and mutual respect. ❤️

So, choose someone who does more than make your heart happy. Choose someone who:

🌹 Respects your boundaries.
🌹 Values your opinions.
🌹 Appreciates your presence.
🌹 Speaks to you with kindness.
🌹 Supports your growth.
🌹 Corrects you without humiliating you.
🌹 Makes you feel safe, valued, and cherished.

Never confuse disrespect with love. Constant insults, humiliation, manipulation, or belittling are not signs of healthy love.

Love may bring two people together, but respect, trust, forgiveness, and selfless commitment help keep them together.

And remember: you deserve to be loved without having your dignity diminished. ❤️

🌊🕊️ LORD, LEAD US INTO THE DEEP 🕊️🌊

Lord Jesus, today we surrender to You our work, our talents, our abilities, our struggles, and even the empty spaces in our lives.

Grant us the greater miracle—not merely the blessing of having more, but the grace of true conversion of heart. ❤️

Enter the vessel of our hearts, Lord. Take control of our lives and direct us into the deep waters of Your holy will.

Give us the courage to leave behind our old nets—the habits, fears, attachments, sins, disappointments, and anything that keeps us from following You wholeheartedly.

Teach us to trust You even when the waters seem uncertain. Help us to obey Your voice when we cannot yet see the abundance You have prepared.

May our skills become instruments of Your glory, our work become an offering of love, and our lives become fruitful for Your Kingdom.

Lord Jesus, lead us beyond our comfort zones and into the purpose for which You created us.

Heavenly Father,

As I begin this Wednesday, I come before You with a grateful heart. Thank You for the precious gift of life, for Your unfailing love, for the protection of the night, and for Your faithfulness that never fails.

Lord, be my strength in every challenge, my wisdom in every decision, my courage in every difficulty, and my peace in every moment. Go before me today and guide my steps according to Your holy will.

Father, guide my thoughts, words, and actions, so that everything I do may bring glory and honour to Your holy name. Bless my family and loved ones. Protect us from every danger and evil. Heal those who are sick, comfort those who are suffering, strengthen those who are discouraged, and provide for all who are in need.

Help me to trust Your perfect plan, especially when I cannot understand the path ahead. When doors seem closed, give me faith to wait upon You. When I feel weak, remind me that Your grace is sufficient. When I am afraid, remind me that You are always near.

Fill my heart with patience, kindness, humility, compassion, and unwavering faith. May Your Holy Spirit guide me throughout this day, keeping me close to You and teaching me to love others as Christ has loved us.

*Today’s Reflection:*
Which are your favourites among the miracles of Jesus? If you could perform any one of them, which would it be? For some, it is the walking on the water while some will prefer the changing of water into wine. But ask a desperate mother whose son or daughter is dying or is terribly sick, she will plead for Jesus’ touch – to heal and restore her child to health. In the gospel, Jesus visits Peter’s mother-in-law and restores her to health and life. He is the one and only physician! He always seeks those in pain to give them relief. He wants to perform the same miracles in us and through us.

The Lord is my protector; he is my fortress. My God is my protection, and with him I am safe. He protects me like a shield; he defends me and keeps me safe. 🌙✨ JUST BEFORE YOU FALL ASLEEP
(First Night of the Month)

Before this day fully wraps up and before we close our eyes in sleep, Lord, we look back over today and simply say: Thank You. 🙏

You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger, rich in kindness, faithful in every word, and holy in everything You do. We know we have not always matched Your goodness today. We stumbled. We spoke too quickly. We became discouraged. We gave up too soon. We fell short in ways we may not even realize.

But You remained faithful. And tonight, that is enough.

Your Word reminds us that “the Lord supports all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down.” So tonight, Lord, we stop trying to hold ourselves up by our own strength.

We let You catch us. 🤲❤️

We also remember the quiet ways You visited us today—a kind word, a little relief, an unexpected smile, a moment of peace, a door that opened, or a blessing we almost walked past without noticing.

Thank You, Lord, for coming near, even when we were not watching for You.

Tonight, hold what we cannot fix.
Forgive what we cannot undo.
Heal what still hurts.
Calm what troubles our hearts.
And give us the grace to leave tomorrow in Your hands.

As we enter this new month, may every night be covered by Your protection, every morning welcomed with fresh mercy, and every day guided by Your wisdom.

May this month bring peace to our homes, strength to our hearts, favour to our endeavours, healing to our wounds, and beautiful testimonies to our lives.

Lord, watch over us and everyone we love through the night. Let no evil come near us, and let us wake tomorrow refreshed, grateful, and ready to walk with You.

📖 FIRST READING

1 Corinthians 2:10b–16

> “The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God; the spiritual man judges all things.”

St. Paul reminds us that the Holy Spirit enables us to understand the things of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may recognise and appreciate the gifts He has given us.

The Christian life requires spiritual discernment. We cannot understand everything about God merely through human wisdom. We need the grace of the Holy Spirit.

And what a beautiful conclusion:

> “But we have the mind of Christ.”

May the Holy Spirit renew our minds and help us to think, speak and live according to the mind of Christ. 🕊️

Luke 4:31–37

In today's Gospel, Jesus teaches in the synagogue at Capernaum, and the people are astonished because His word is spoken with authority.

An unclean spirit recognises Jesus and cries out. But Jesus does not engage in a debate with the demon. He simply commands:

> “Be silent, and come out of him!”

The unclean spirit obeys, and the people are amazed:

> “With authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.”

This Gospel reminds us that Jesus possesses authority over every power that opposes God. His word brings freedom, healing and restoration.

When Christ speaks, darkness must give way to light.
When Christ commands, evil cannot prevail.
When Christ enters a life, He brings liberation.

Therefore, do not allow fear to overwhelm you. Stay close to Jesus. Nourish your spiritual life through prayer, Sacred Scripture, the Holy Eucharist, Confession and obedience to God's Word.

🙏 Lord Jesus, speak your word into every troubled area of our lives. Cast out everything that keeps us from You and fill our hearts with Your peace, Your grace and Your Holy Spirit. Give us the mind of Christ and the courage to follow You faithfully. Amen.

🌿 NEVER BE OVERWHELMED BY DARKNESS

Tuesday, 1 September 2026
Tuesday of the 22nd Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: 1 Cor. 2:10–16; Ps. 145:8–14; Lk. 4:31–37

«“Ah! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.”
— Luke 4:34»

The presence of Jesus exposes the powerlessness of darkness.

In today's Gospel, Jesus enters the synagogue and encounters a man possessed by an unclean spirit. The demon recognises Jesus immediately and cries out in fear. Jesus does not negotiate with it, nor does He engage in a long argument. With authority, He commands the spirit to leave—and it obeys.

This is an important reminder: where Christ is truly welcomed, darkness cannot have the final word.

The fact that the man was in the synagogue should make us reflect deeply. Being physically present in a place of worship does not automatically mean that one's heart belongs to God. We can be surrounded by holy things and yet allow sin, pride, hatred, greed, lust or unforgiveness to take root within us.

Jesus Himself warned that not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the Kingdom of heaven (cf. Mt. 7:21).

There is therefore a spiritual battle that we must not ignore. St. Paul reminds us in today's First Reading:

«“The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God… because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things.”
— 1 Corinthians 2:14–15»

We need spiritual discernment. We must learn to recognise what draws us closer to God and what gradually separates us from Him.

Think also of David. While his soldiers were fighting battles on the battlefield, David was losing a battle within himself. His failure reminds us that victory over external enemies means little if we allow sin to conquer our hearts.

So, how do we stand firm?

1️⃣ Deepen your spiritual life.
Do not allow the world to become the measure of everything. Nourish your soul through God's Word, the Sacraments, the Eucharist, Confession, spiritual reading and a life of obedience to God.

2️⃣ Become a person of prayer.
Jesus Himself made prayer central to His life and ministry. He withdrew to quiet places to pray and remained in communion with the Father.

Prayer is not a performance. You do not need to shout to prove that you have faith. A heart genuinely united with Christ possesses a strength that does not come from human power.

3️⃣ Remain close to Christ.
Our greatest defence against darkness is not fear of demons but faith in Jesus Christ. We do not fight spiritual battles as people who have already been defeated. Christ has conquered sin and death.

The devil may tempt, but he is not God. Darkness may appear powerful, but it cannot overcome the Light.

«“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
— John 1:5»

Therefore, do not be overwhelmed by darkness.
Do not surrender to fear.
Do not give sin permanent residence in your heart.
Do not lose hope because of your struggles.

Bring everything to Jesus.

He is the Holy One of God. He has authority over every power of darkness.

God of might, giver of every good gift, put into our hearts the love of Your name. Deepen in us a spirit of reverence, nurture what is good within us, and by Your watchful care keep safe what You have nurtured.
