The Dominican Sisters have marked a century of presence and ministry in Melbourne, commemorating the arrival of the first four pioneer sisters in August 1926.✨

Mes Dominicano por la Paz 2026
México: Un país sediento de paz 🇲🇽 🕊

Durante los últimos nueve años, la Orden ha seleccionado un país afectado por graves conflictos y violaciones de derechos humanos como el foco del Mes Dominicano por la Paz. Su propósito es llamar la atención de la Familia Dominicana sobre las dificultades que enfrentan nuestros hermanos y hermanas en ese país. Hasta ahora, nos hemos enfocado en Colombia (2017), la República Democrática del Congo (2018), India (2019), Ucrania (2020), Venezuela (2021), Myanmar (2022), la Amazonía peruana (2023), Haití (2024) y Camerún (2025). En este décimo año, 2026, nuestro enfoque es México, que también conmemora el 500 aniversario de la presencia y el ministerio dominicano en el país.

El Mes de la Paz comienza el primer domingo de Adviento y nos brinda la oportunidad de orar por nuestros hermanos y hermanas de la Orden que enfrentan diversos desafíos y solidarizarnos con ellos. Este año, el Mes de la Paz comienza el primer domingo de Adviento, 29 de noviembre de 2026.

Our hearts are particularly close to the people of Nepal, following the catastrophic flash floods that struck the Himalayan region on 26 August. The disaster devastated communities along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems, destroying homes and infrastructure and leaving many people dead or missing. Rescue and relief operations continue amid difficult conditions and the danger of further flooding.
We invite all Dominican Sisters, Associates, collaborators and friends to remember the people of Nepal in prayer, especially those who have lost loved ones, those still missing, the injured and displaced, and the rescue and relief workers serving affected communities.
Let us also remember all people affected by natural calamities around the world. May these experiences deepen our commitment to ecological conversion and to building communities that protect life, strengthen resilience and care for our Common Home.

You are warmly invited you to join a study group dedicated to the texts of Saint Catherine of Siena! 📚
Initiative of three Dominican women, two sisters and one nun, and designed for English-speaking Sisters, these sessions offer a welcoming space for careful reading, thoughtful discussion, and shared reflection. The hope is to engage Catherine’s writings with both scholarly attentiveness and spiritual openness.

First session will take place on October 13 at 7pm via Zoom.💻
