This was a busy morning’s work today amongst the heads of the and the General Secretariat of the Synod, accompanied by the heads from the Dicastery for Communication and the Holy See Press Office, to prepare for Pope Leo XIV’s meeting with the Heads of the Eastern Catholic Churches and the Presidents of the Episcopal Conferences to mark the 10th anniversary of the post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation . The meeting, entitled ‘Ten years after Amoris laetitia: proclaiming the Gospel with families today’, will take place in the Vatican from 7 to 14 October 2026.

Come annunciare oggi ai giovani la bellezza di una promessa per sempre?

Al Meeting Rimini per l’amicizia fra i popoli, ha proposto delle risposte Gabriella Gambino, sottosegretario del Dicastero per i Laici, la Famiglia e la Vita che lunedì scorso, 24 agosto, nel suo intervento sul tema “Per l’umano e per l’eterno: l’amor che genera”, ha affrontato la crisi contemporanea del matrimonio e la difficoltà delle nuove generazioni ad assumere un impegno definitivo.

La riflessione ha messo in luce la necessità di riscoprire il matrimonio non soltanto come scelta privata della coppia, ma come realtà con una precisa rilevanza familiare, sociale e giuridica e, per i cristiani, come vocazione e sacramento.

Al centro dell’intervento emerge la testimonianza delle famiglie: ai giovani, infatti, non basta ascoltare parlare del matrimonio, ma è necessario poter incontrare sposi capaci di mostrare, attraverso la propria vita, che la fedeltà, la promessa e il dono di sé sono ancora possibili.

One Year to Go!
From August 3, WYD Seoul 2027 Enters Full Implementation Phase.

With one year remaining before World Youth Day Seoul 2027 (August, 3-8, 2027) opens, all Youth of the world is invited to participate and to be involved in this journey, by starting a spiritual pilgrimage and discovering all key milestones in the path toward Seoul.

🎶🎵 Theme Song to be launched on August 3.
The one-year countdown will be marked on August 3, 2026, with the World Premiere of the Official Theme Song on the official YouTube Channel ().

🌳🌱Global Ecological Campaign.
On August 3, the LOC will launch also the "Breath of Life" Global Tree-Planting Campaign, inviting young people to plant trees in their own countries and share their participation online.

🔜❗️International pilgrim registration to open soon, in the second half of 2026.

Oggi si celebra la VI Giornata Mondiale dei Nonni e degli Anziani, che ha come tema le parole del Profeta Isaia: «Io invece non ti dimenticherò mai» (Is 49,15). Ringraziamo insieme il Signore per il dono che gli anziani sono per la Chiesa e per la società, e impegniamoci a rispettarne e valorizzarne il ruolo prezioso e a garantire loro, sempre, la giusta attenzione e assistenza.

The Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life invites the elderly to celebrate the Day in the joy of feeling like children loved by God: rediscovering oneself as a child at every age is a call for all the elderly to deepen their vocation and to feel—in every season of life—that they are living members of the Christian community and co-responsible for its mission.
