Pope Leo XIV has appointed Maria Montserrat Alvarado, currently President and Chief Operating Officer of EWTN News, as Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, effective from 1 November 2026.

Born in Mexico City, Alvarado earned academic degrees from Florida International University and George Washington University. From 2009 to 2023, she held leadership positions at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, serving in initiatives dedicated to the defense of religious freedom and the promotion of human dignity.

Since 2023, she has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of EWTN News, the news division of the Eternal Word Television Network, overseeing international media platforms producing content in seven languages across television, radio, print, digital, and social media.

With the appointment of Alvarado, Pope Leo XIV continues the path of reform and renewal of the Roman Curia initiated by Pope Francis, which has seen lay faithful, men and women, entrusted with positions of leadership and responsibility in the service of the universal Church. Alvarado is the first non-religious woman to be appointed prefect of a dicastery of the Holy See.

Nature flourishes where it is loved and cared for.
Yes, the members in Tanmaya, Provincial House believe that every life matters — the animals we nurture, the soil we protect, the leaves we return to the earth, and the seeds we help grow. What we receive from nature, we gently give back through care, harmony, and responsible living. From this cycle of love and sustainability comes healthy soil, nourishing food, beautiful gardens, and a living reminder that caring for creation is caring for life itself.”

Theme:- “Hope That Leads to Action”
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — First Epistle of John 3:18

Hope is one of the greatest gifts God gives to humanity. Hope gives strength during difficulties, courage during fear, and light during darkness. Christian hope is not simply wishing that things become better. It is trusting in God’s presence and believing that love, goodness, and justice can still grow in the world.
But hope should not remain only in our thoughts or prayers. Real hope moves us into action. When we help others, care for creation, support the weak, forgive, and stand for truth, we become living signs of hope.

Even small acts can become powerful lights:
helping a struggling friend,
speaking kindly,
feeding the hungry,
caring for nature,
comforting someone in pain.

Every action done with love becomes a witness of hope.
