To mark the feast day of Saint Marcellin, Champagnat Global will hold a virtual meeting on June 3 under the motto “Builders of a New Hermitage.” The online event will be attended by Superior General Br. Peter Carroll, Vicar General Br. Hipólito Pérez, and brothers of the General Council.

Br Steve Vaea of Samoa, Star of the Sea Province, made his Perpetual Profession as a Marist Brother on 30 May, marking a significant milestone in his vocational journey.
Surrounded by fellow Marist Brothers, family, friends, and members of the wider Marist community, Br Steve made a lifelong commitment to the Marist way of life through the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
Present for the celebration were Provincial Br Darren Burge, Vice Provincial Br Ken McDonald, and fellow Brothers including Br Sefo Une, Br Siaosi Ioane, Br Petero Navuku, Br Anitelea Fidow, Br John Curry, Br Lulio Suaesi, Br David and Br Kevin.
Br Darren received Br Steve's perpetual vows on behalf of the Superior General, Br Peter Carroll.
The celebration brought together the richness of Samoan and Fijian traditions, creating a fitting tribute to Br Steve's journey and the deep connections he has formed through his ministry across the Pacific.

Until 31 May, the General Government of the is gathered in France for a retreat, prayerfully preparing for the upcoming June Plenary Session.
On Saturday, the Council celebrated the Eucharist in La Valla, the sacred place where Saint Marcellin Champagnat founded the Marist Institute—a moment of deep reflection, renewal, and connection with our origins.
🙏 May this time of retreat strengthen their mission and inspire continued service in the spirit of Champagnat.

The relationship of Marcellin to Mary was deeply marked by an affective and total trust in her, as the “Good Mother,’’ because it was her work that he undertook. He wrote once: Without Mary we are nothing and with Mary we have everything, because Mary always has her adorable Son within her arms or in her heart. This belief remained constant all through his life. Jesus and Mary were the treasure on which Marcellin had learned to place his own heart. This intimate relationship helped shape the Marial dimension of our spirituality. In our tradition, the phrase “Ordinary Resource” has come to encapsulate our constant reliance on Mary. The motto attributed to Champagnat by his biographer, All to Jesus through Mary, all to Mary for Jesus, captures this close relationship between the Son and the Mother and our Founder’s attitude of confidence in Mary, which we are invited to live (Water from the Rock, 25).
