MEMORIAL OF SAINT PAUL VI, POPE

Saint Paul VI, born Giovanni Battista Montini, was the pope who guided the Church through the completion and implementation of the Second Vatican Council. Known for his humility, intellect, and missionary spirit, he worked tirelessly for evangelization, peace, ecumenism, and renewal within the Church. He became the first modern pope to travel extensively around the world, bringing the Gospel to many nations and encouraging dialogue with the modern world.

FEAST OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST
(Thursday after Pentecost)

The Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest, honors Christ as the perfect and eternal mediator between God and humanity. Through His sacrifice on the Cross, Jesus established the new and everlasting covenant, offering Himself once and for all for the salvation of the world. This feast also reminds the faithful to pray for priests and to unite their lives and sacrifices with Christ, who continues His priestly ministry through the Church and the Eucharist.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus Christ, Eternal High Priest,
You offered Yourself in perfect love for the salvation of the world. Teach us to unite our prayers, sacrifices, and daily lives to Your holy offering. Strengthen all priests in faithful service, and draw Your Church ever closer to Your Sacred Heart.
