FEAST OF THE DEDICATION OF THE LATERAN BASILICA IN ROME: What is the significance of this feast for the universal church?
The LATERAN Cathedral is the See of the Bishop of Rome, successor of St Peter. It occupies the first position of importance for the universal church. It is the mother of all other churches. It's dedication as a place of worship signifies how the Church, the Body of Christ, has been sanctified by God. It is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and must be used for prayer not for business. In John 2: 13-22, Jesus cleans the Temple as it was dified by temple authorities who used it for business and corruption. We are called to keep ourselves holy in the eyes of God and never to défilé our bodies

It is the quality of our heart that matters to God when we give and not the amount. The 2 widows gave all they had nomatter how small they gave. They had a big heart trusting in the providence of God. Our life does not depend on riches or money but on God. we can survive without money in our pockets if w have Christ in our hearts. Peace be with you

Holy Week is a period in which christians contemplate on the last days of ur Lord Jesus Christ as he neared his death. It begins from the day Jesus entered Jerusalem as King of the Jews celebrated on Palm Sunday. The liturgies that follow on Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday focus on those events that happened to Jesus on these days as narrated in the Gospel according to John.
let us journey with Jesus as he endures his passion

Today's reflection:
True humility is in not judging others but forgiving everyone.

Sometimes we create rules and laws for ourselves and attribe them to God. We end up neglecting the true laws of God and concentrate on those rules and laws we create for ourselves. Jesus in today's Gospel denounces the Pharisees and Scribes who had this habit of enforcing their traditions at the expense of the law of God. Mk 7: 1-13. Peace be with you

Homily for the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary time year B. 17th January 2021
Theme: GOD CALLS US TO DO HIS WILL
1 Samuel 3: 3-10
1 Corinthans 6: 13-15. 17-20
John 1: 35-42

All the three readings of today touch on the reality of our calling. God calls us to do His will. Sometimes we do not recognize the voice of God. We need other people more familiar with the workings of God, Eli and John the Baptist, to lead us to God. Once we encounter the Lord, our lives become changed for the better, Simon to Cephas in the Gospel. We are moved to invite others to come and experience the goodness of the Lord, Andrew in the Gospel. What is my role towards helping others reach the Lord. Am I a good mentor or a distructor?
Once we have become disciples of Christ, we are expected to live morally good. Our bodies become temples of the Holy Spirit, second reading. We should never be involved in fornication as this defies the body, Temple of the Holy Spirit.
