𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗥𝗢𝗘. 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗬𝗡. 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛.
Tra le 𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐗𝐗 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨, nessuna ha conosciuto la stessa sorte di 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐞:
ogni sua immagine è stata consumata, ripetuta, idolatrata.
𝐌𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 ne fa il terreno d’indagine del suo linguaggio:
il décollage diventa gesto di strappo e resurrezione.
“Monroe. Marilyn. Myth” mette in dialogo l’artista e la diva come due forme dello stesso destino:
essere trasformati in immagine, essere amati fino alla cancellazione.
Eppure, nella lacerazione resta la verità ultima:
𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝒄𝒉𝒊 𝒔𝒊 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒂, 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒕𝒆, 𝒑𝒖𝒐̀ 𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆.

Among the 𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐲, none endured a fate quite like 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐞.
Every image of her was consumed, repeated, idolized.
𝐌𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 turns her into the subject of his inquiry:
the décollage becomes an act of tearing — and rebirth.
“Monroe. Marilyn. Myth.” sets the artist and the diva in dialogue,
two figures bound by the same destiny:
to be turned into an icon, to be loved until erased.
Yet within the laceration lies the final truth:
𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚, 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏, 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒍.
