TOPIC: SOUL WINNING
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise(PROVERBS 11:30).
Beloved, one of the greatest assignments God has given to every believer is the responsibility of winning souls into His kingdom. Soul winning is not just a responsibility for pastors, prophets, evangelists or church leaders; it is the calling of every genuine child of God.Jesus did not save us just to enjoy His blessings. He saved us so that we could become instruments through which others will experience His love, forgiveness and salvation.There are people around us who are spiritually lost, broken, confused and searching for hope. Some are waiting for someone to tell them that Jesus loves them. Some need to hear the message of salvation, while others need someone to invite them to church.We must understand that heaven rejoices when one sinner repents. Therefore, soul winning should become our lifestyle, not just an occasional church activity.
Soul winning is a command from Jesus. He did not suggest that we should preach the Gospel; He commanded us to go and make disciples. Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
The Great Commission is not meant for a selected few. Every believer has a part to play in spreading the Gospel.You may not have a pulpit, but you have a family, neighbours, friends, colleagues and people you meet every day. These are opportunities to share the love of Christ.Remember: You don't need to be a pastor before you can win a soul.
God desires that people should come to repentance and receive eternal life. His love extends to every person, regardless of their background or past mistakes. In 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."If God desires that people should be saved, we must also develop a passion for the salvation of souls.Never look down on anyone because of their past. The person you are ignoring today may become a powerful testimony tomorrow.
You cannot effectively win souls without having genuine love for people.Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw people who were scattered and spiritually
Soul winning is not about condemning people, insulting them or forcing them to accept the Gospel. It is about showing them the love of Christ and patiently pointing them towards salvation.Let your attitude, words and actions make people see Jesus in you.
God values the salvation of souls. Every effort made to bring someone closer to Christ,
Do not become discouraged when people reject your invitation or refuse to listen. Your responsibility is to faithfully share the Gospel; the Holy Spirit works in people's hearts.
Before you can effectively lead others to Christ, you must maintain a personal relationship with Him.Your life should reflect the message you preach. Let people see Christ through your conduct, integrity, forgiveness, humility and love. Pray for the salvation of your family members and friends. Share your testimony of what Jesus has done in your life. Invite someone to church every week. Share the Gospel with love and patience. Use social media to spread God's Word. Follow up on those who respond to your invitation.Demonstrate the love of Christ through your daily lifestyle. Amen.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for saving me through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Today, give me a heart that loves what You love and a passion for the salvation of souls. Forgive me for every opportunity I have missed to share Your Word. Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit and give me boldness, wisdom and compassion to reach the lost. Use my life as an instrument of salvation. Let my family, friends, neighbours and everyone around me encounter Your saving grace. May my life bring joy to heaven through the souls that will come to Christ, in Jesus' name, Amen.
