Life is not simple. It’s full of people whose actions can affect us, and sometimes, those actions can cause pain. Without forgiveness, we can unintentionally allow bitterness to build in our hearts, fostering disconnection and isolation. If we choose to harbor bitterness, we choose to lose the lens of love and grace, ultimately changing our entire perspective of life. We have a choice to abide in love. As we abide in love, we abide in the Father whose love believes in people even when they don’t deserve it. In the invitation to follow the way of Christ, we are called to forgive those who have wronged us—in doing this, we too can rewrite history.
