šā¤ļøA Person Worthy of All Peopleās Emulation
The New Testament includes a thought-provoking story. It talked about an ordinary woman who didnāt have much Bible knowledge or high status and didnāt come into contact with any religious figures. The first time she met the Lord Jesus, she recognized His words as Godās voice and determined He is the coming Messiah. Yes, she was the Samaritan woman. Then how did she recognize the Lord Jesus as the Messiah? What inspiration does her story bring to us?
Though investigating the Bible, itās easy to find that when the Samaritan woman was drawing the water, she met the Lord Jesus who asked for a drink. The Lord Jesus said she had five husbands. Hearing this, she felt shocked, for no one knew what she had done in secret. For this reason, she believed the Lord Jesus was not an ordinary man but a prophet. After that, she spoke out her confusion: Where should believers worship God, on the mountain or at Jerusalem? And exactly how should man worship God? The Lord Jesus told her that it didnāt matter whether man was on the mountain or at Jerusalem; He clearly said, āGod is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truthā (John 4:24). From these words, the Samaritan woman recognized the Lord Jesus as the prophesied Messiah. It can be seen that the reason why the Samaritan woman was able to recognize the identity of the Lord Jesus was not that she had several prophecies as a basis, but that she saw Godās words are authoritative and powerful, and can reveal the secrets of man and supply man with their spiritual needs.
Now great disasters have befallen us, and prophecies of the Lordās return have been fulfilled. At this critical moment for welcoming the Lordās return, only if we emulate the Samaritan woman and listen to Godās voice can we greet the Lord. Just as the Lord Jesus said, āBehold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Meā (Revelation 3:20). āMy sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Meā (John 10:27).
God says, āSince we are searching for the footprints of God, it behooves us to search for Godās will, for the words of God, for His utterancesābecause wherever there are new words spoken by God, the voice of God is there, and wherever there are the footsteps of God, Godās deeds are there. Wherever there is the expression of God, there God appears, and wherever God appears, there the truth, the way, and the life exist. In seeking Godās footprints, you have ignored the words āGod is the truth, the way, and the life.ā And so, many people, even when they receive the truth, do not believe that they have found Godās footprints, and still less do they acknowledge the appearance of God. What a grave mistake!ā
It can be seen that the Lord would speak words upon His return in the last days and that He would use His words to knock at our doors. We need to seek to listen to the words of the Lord returned. Once we recognize His voice, we accept and obey, then we will have welcomed the Lord and be feasting with Him.
