Santi Apostoli is a parish community consisting of families and students from all over of the world who come together to support one another on their faith journey. When is Catholic Mass in English celebrated? We celebrate a Catholic Mass in English every Sunday at 10:30am. We also have UpperRoom (Mass, Adoration, and Fellowship) on Tuesdays at 6:00pm. UpperRoom Florence is a community of Catholic

college students and young professionals who gather weekly for faith and fellowship. How can I find out about UpperRoom and other events? Look out for updates on our Instagram or page for more information on community events or send an email to Fr. Kramer ([email protected]) to be added to the whatsapp group list! History of the Church of Santi Apostoli:
This historic church dates back to the beginning of the second millennium, and it is one of the oldest Churches in Florence! The welcoming courtyard and the Roman-esque style make Santi Apostoli a particularly prayerful place.

Sunday Message from Fr. Kramer:

Dear Families and Friends of Santi Apostoli,

We are celebrating the Fifth Sunday of Lent already! Next week is Palm Sunday! And the next, Easter! There are a few questions that I would like to share with you based on today’s readings: do you identify with what St. Paul writes? Do you consider everything as garbage compared to knowing Christ? Have you experienced the resurrected Jesus? The woman caught in adultery encountered the living Jesus and her life changed! Have you encountered the living Jesus? I believe that this Easter Jesus wants us to experience him alive and resurrected! Let’s ask daily for this gift.

Here are two prayers by St. Thérèse of Lisieux that Pope Francis quotes in Dilexit Nos, his fourth encyclical “on the Human and Divine Love of the Heart of Jesus Christ” which I believe are relevant to today’s liturgy and which I recommend reflecting on this week:

“If I had committed all possible crimes, I would always have the same confidence; I feel that this whole multitude of offenses would be like a drop of water thrown into a fiery furnace”.

“I need a heart burning with tenderness,
Who will be my support forever,
Who loves everything in me, even my weakness…”

Let’s also continue to mediate on Pope Francis’ Lenten Message which is full of treasures:

“It would be a good Lenten exercise for us to compare our daily life with that of some migrant or foreigner, to learn how to sympathize with their experiences and in this way discover what God is asking of us so that we can better advance on our journey to the house of the Father. This would be a good “examination of conscience” for all of us wayfarers.”

October: For a Shared Mission

Pope Francis asks for prayers so that the Church “continues to support a synodal way of life, under the sign of co-responsibility, promoting participation, communion, and shared mission among priests, religious, and laypeople.”

Dear Families and Friends,

In this Sunday’s Gospel we read, “With the coming of evening, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let us cross over to the other side.’ And leaving the crowd behind they took him, just as he was, in the boat; and there were other boats with him. Then it began to blow a gale and the waves were breaking into the boat so that it was almost swamped. But he was in the stern, his head on the cushion, asleep. They woke him and said to him, ‘Master, do you not care? We are going down!’ And he woke up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Quiet now! Be calm!’ And the wind dropped, and all was calm again. Then he said to them, ‘Why are you so frightened? How is it that you have no faith?’”

In the midst of the storms in our lives, do we have faith? Do we believe that Jesus is with us? Do we trust him? Perhaps we find ourselves shouting at times: “Master, do you not care? We are going down!!” We may hear Jesus saying to us today, “Why are you so frightened? How is it that you have no faith?”

Lord Jesus, increase our faith!

May God continue to bless you and each of your families. Have a great week! If you need anything, never hesitate to ask me.

God bless you and your loved ones, Fr. Kramer Cameron, LC
