ASHURA DAY

On Thursday, the 10th of Muharram, 1448 AH, the mourning gathering commemorating the tragic martyrdom of the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (SAWW), Imam Husain (AS), which took place in the year 61 AH on the land of Karbala, continued.

The mourning session was held at Husainiyyah Rasul Al-Akram (SAWW) in Kudan under the leadership of Sheikh Isma’il Yusha’u and Sheikh Yahya Hasan.

Sheikh Yahya Hasan began the program with a lecture in which he explained the events that occurred from the departure of Imam Husain (AS) from Makkah up to the day of Tasu’a, the 9th of Muharram. His speech deeply touched the hearts of those present and moved the audience into an atmosphere of sorrow and tears due to the magnitude of the tragedy.

Afterward, Sheikh Isma’il Yusha’u delivered his lecture, discussing the events that took place in Karbala and the calamities that befell the Ahlul-Bayt (AS) on the Day of Ashura. From the beginning of his speech until its conclusion, the gathering was filled with weeping and grief because of his deeply emotional and heart-touching style of presentation.

Finally, Malam Nura Sani Kudan was invited to lead the elegies and mourning chants. After the completion of the recitations, Ziyara was conducted, and the participants of the mourning gathering were then dismissed.

ALKALERI DISTRICT – BAUCHI STATE

A mourning gathering commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (AS) was held in Alkaleri District, Bauchi State, on the 4th of Muharram, 1448 AH. The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Isma’il Yusha’u Kudan.

The Sheikh began his address by praising Allah, the Almighty, and sending blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and his pure family. He then recited the verse of Allah:

“And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will return.”
(Surah Ash-Shu‘ara, 26:227)

The Sheikh explained that this verse highlights the inevitable fate awaiting those who transgress the limits set by Allah and commit injustice. He pointed out that the enemies of Imam Husayn (AS) believed that by killing him, everything would come to an end. However, truth never dies, and the true divine message can never be extinguished.

The topic of the lecture was:

“Crying for Imam Husayn: Is it merely tears, or is it a message and a way of life?”

During his speech, the Sheikh clarified that Islam does not prohibit crying, as crying is a natural human emotion created by Allah. He referred to examples from the lives of the Prophets, including Prophet Ya’qub (AS), and the tears of the Messenger of Allah (SAWA) upon the death of his son Ibrahim.

He further explained that mourning for Imam Husayn (AS) is not simply grief over the death of an individual; rather, it is mourning for one who rose to defend religion and reform society. He cited the famous statement of Imam Husayn (AS):

“I did not rise out of arrogance, pride, corruption, or oppression; rather, I rose to seek reform in the nation of my grandfather.”

The Sheikh also emphasized that true mourning should transform a person’s life and character. He explained that the narrations regarding the virtues of weeping for Imam Husayn (AS) do not mean shedding tears while continuing sinful behavior. Instead, such tears should become a means of self-reformation and positive change.

He further discussed some of the benefits of mourning and weeping for Imam Husayn (AS), including:

• Spiritual impact: Softening the heart, cultivating mercy and compassion, and bringing one closer to Allah.
• Educational impact: Helping to nurture children upon values of truth, justice, and sacrifice.
• Social impact: The gatherings of Imam Husayn (AS) have played a vital role in preserving and safeguarding religion throughout history.

In conclusion, the Sheikh stressed that tears alone are not sufficient, as Imam Husayn (AS) calls upon believers to combine tears with action — transforming emotions into meaningful reform and righteous conduct.

During the mourning segment, the Sheikh emotionally described the hardships faced by Imam Husayn (AS) in Karbala — how he lost his loved ones one after another, and how he carried his infant child, appealing for mercy due to the child’s unbearable thirst.

The gathering concluded with prayers asking Allah to make the community among those who follow the path of Imam Husayn (AS) in both words and actions, and to bless them with his visitation in this world and his intercession in the Hereafter.

May Allah accept this effort and place it among the scales of good deeds.

GWARAM DISTRICT – BAUCHI STATE
In an atmosphere filled with reverence and reflection upon the profound lessons of the School of Karbala, an Ashura mourning gathering was held in Gwaram District, Bauchi State, on Friday, the 4th of Muharram, 1448 AH.

The gathering took place at the Fudiyyah Gwaram center, where Sheikh Isma’il Yusha’u Kudan delivered an inspiring lecture rich in reminders, guidance, and heartfelt lessons that deeply touched the audience. The session lasted from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

During his address, the Sheikh highlighted the significance of the Event of Karbala, explaining that Karbala is not merely a historical event of the past, but an eternal school of sacrifice, patience, steadfastness upon truth, and resistance against oppression and injustice.

He further explained how Imam Husayn (AS) sacrificed everything he possessed in defense of the religion of Allah and the dignity of Islam. His stand was not for power or worldly gain, but rather to ensure that truth would remain alive, justice would endure, and religion would never become a tool in the hands of tyrants.

The lecture also reflected upon the immense trials witnessed on the plains of Karbala — where families were separated from their loved ones, children endured the pain of thirst, and hearts were filled with sorrow and grief. Yet despite all these hardships, the light of faith, patience, and perseverance never faded.

It was also emphasized that the message of Karbala continues to live in the hearts of believers, teaching humanity that a truthful person may lose everything, but will never lose dignity and principles.

The gathering witnessed a large turnout of participants, who listened attentively in an atmosphere of mourning, contemplation, and deep reflection.

May Allah make us among those who learn from the School of Imam Husayn (AS) and grant us the strength to remain steadfast upon truth and justice at all times.

Congratulations on the Successful Completion of Studies

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and may His blessings and peace be upon Prophet Muhammad and his pure Household.

On behalf of the Administration of Ma’ahadur Rasul Al-Akram Kudan, Nigeria, together with its teachers and students, we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to our dear female students on the successful completion of an important stage of their academic journey at Ma’ahaduz Zahra (A.S.) for Qur’anic Sciences, under the auspices of the Holy Husayniyyah Shrine in Karbala, Iraq.

This achievement is a source of great pride and honor for the graduates, their parents, their teachers, and the communities from which they come. We are especially delighted that the majority of the graduates are daughters of the Islamic Movement. Sixteen (16) of them were admitted and sponsored through Ma’ahadur Rasul Al-Akram Kudan, while six (6) are originally students of this institution, having begun their educational foundation here before continuing their studies abroad to further deepen their knowledge.

We regard this accomplishment as a remarkable fruit of perseverance, dedication, and commitment to education and moral development. It stands as clear evidence that continuous efforts to nurture knowledgeable, disciplined, and morally upright young women yield valuable and lasting results.

We pray to Almighty Allah to bless the knowledge they have acquired, grant them greater wisdom, understanding, and success, and make them a source of benefit to their religion, their families, the Islamic Movement, and society as a whole. May Allah enable them to continue serving the Holy Qur’an, the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.), and humanity with sincerity, dedication, and integrity.

Once again, congratulations on this outstanding achievement. We wish them continued success, excellence, and progress in their future academic and spiritual endeavors.

All Praise is Due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
