2. The Return to Karbala:
On the 20th of Safar, the captives, led by the women and children of the Prophet Muhammad's family, were finally allowed to return to Karbala after their long and harrowing journey. The return was both a moment of mourning and a reaffirmation of their connection to the fallen martyrs.
The Arrival of the Captives:
Upon reaching Karbala, the captives gathered at the site of the martyrdom. The scene was one of profound grief as they found the remains of Imam Husayn and his companions, who had been left on the battlefield. The recovery and respectful burial of the martyrs' remains were carried out with great solemnity.
2. Mourning and Remembrance:
The return to Karbala became a significant day of mourning and remembrance. The captives, along with the local inhabitants and later arriving pilgrims, engaged in rituals of sorrow, prayers, and elegies to honor Imam Husayn and his companions.
