The amazing specialty about Raikode Veerabhadra swamy temple is in the way holy deity appears in three different forms as Bala Veerabhadra in the morning, Yavvana Veerabhadra in the noon and Vruddha Veerabhadra in the evenings representing various phases of life in a day span, to bless his devotees. Main deities of the temple Veerabhadra swamy and Badhrakali maata are carved on
the single stone (Eka shila) depicting the strong bond one should have with the family. Veerabhadra swamy temple is located in Raikode village 25km to north of Zaheerabad town (Approximately located at 100 km to the west of globally known city Hyderabad, on Hyderabad to Pune Highway) in Medak Dist. of Telangana State. As per sthala purana, Sri Badhrakali sametha Veerabhadra swamy temple was built during reigns of Vijayanagara dynasty i.e., 14th -15th centuries. While transferring the idol from Rayalaseema (Where it is carved out) to Karnataka-Maharashtra border, people carrying the idol on the carts decided to have a break to get refresh, in the premise of Sri Mallikarjuna swamy temple near Raikode village. When they tried to resume the journey, the cart carrying Sri Veerabhadra swamy idol did not move at all, they tried without any success. After a while as it was getting dark in the evening, they decided to stay there rest of the night and planned to resume the journey next day morning. It is said that, Sri Veerabhadra swamy did appear in dreams of these people carrying the idol and also two few of the villagers, and expressed his will to reside in the location forever. With the blessings of Sri Veerabhadra swamy, people in the region constructed a temple around the place - where swamy himself decided to stay and bless his devotees
Sri Veerabhadra swamy’s idol in main temple is one of its kind with 6.5 feet tall, 6 feet width blissful and divine appearance. Shrine water tank (Koneru) in the temple premise shares a very unique experience to the pilgrims. The water inside koneru, has different tastes in different sides, Sweet on East side, Salty on south side and tasteless on north side, mix of all these tastes on west side.
