On 14th of June 2022, One of the most famous and biggest festival of Sikkim, Saga Dawa was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Gyen Tashi Palding Gumpa of Yangang South Sikkim. The festival is the most significant and sacred for the followers of Mahayana Buddhism who on this auspicious occasion commemorate Lord Buddha’s birth, his attainment of enlightenment and salvation from this corporeal world.
Also on this auspicious day a meeting was held to disburse certain amount for the construction of new Mani Lhakhang.

This annual ritual caters to reunion of the family members, with aspirations of a better life in the coming days. This is sort of an exorcism of evil spirits and can only be performed by high level lamas.
