RADHA VALLABHA TEMPLE
The Radha Vallabha Mandir, established by Hit Harivamsa who also founded the Radha Vallabha Sampradaya. The original temple was built after the govindaji Mandir and was also desicrated by the soldiers of Aurangzeb in 1670. A new temple was later built right next to the old one and the original deity of Radha Vallabha was reinstalled there.

When Krishna was holding Govardhana hill and protecting the Vrajavasis from the torrents of rain sent by Indra, there was a huge deluge of water on the hill about to create floods that would drown everyone so Krishna released his Sudarshana chakra, stayed over the hill for seven days and produced heat equal to 7 suns, evaporating large quantities of rainwater and averting a flood. Sudarsana Cakra requested Krishna a place to stay in Vraja and the Lord told him to stay which became Cakra Tirtha.

After Killing the terrible kesi demon, Lord Krishna rested at this place. Lord Chaitanya also rested at this ghat. Some people claim this is the Chir Ghata where Lord Krishna stole the gopi's clothes, but according to Jiva Gosvami the original Chir Ghata is eight miles up river and a different pastimes as hiding the gopis clothes occurred here.

There are four important temples of Devi in Vraja- Vrinda Devi at Kamyavana, Pateleswari Devi at Mathura, Durga Devi (Yogamaya) at Vrindavana and Manasi Devi at Govardhana. It is said that by praying at the feet of one of these goddess one may achieve an eternal position in the Vrindavana pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna.
