Day 1 - Kartik Month.
Life may be difficult from time to time, and mostly throughout the scriptures, we see that people who have been much on the path of Dharma are the most tested, like Arjuna, who had to go into exile and lost his kingdom, Prahlad Maharaj, whose father did so much atrocity to him, Sita, Draupadi... the scriptures are full of those examples.
While people who are less pious, we often see them enjoying themselves, for example, Ravana, who stayed in a golden palace, Duryodhana...etc..
But ultimately, the scriptures recommend that we never abandon the path of Dharma, because whatever we are seeing today will change, and good will always prevail. Those adharmic people enjoy because of their past karma, and you may suffer now because of your past bad karma... these burnings are purifications.
Today marks the start of the month of Kartik, and it is during this same month that Dhruv Maharaj, a 5-year-old boy whom his family made suffer so much, but by his dedication, determination, and prayers, mostly during this month of Kartik, got blessed personally by the Lord, who protects his spiritual and material life.
