Hi dear friends I want to share with you a scripture I find to be motivating:
● “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”
● This message comes from the Book of Mormon, it is one of the most popular verses from it, found in the book of Ether chapter 12 verse 27. It is my favorite scripture verse because it reminds me of how much the Lord loves me that He is willing to help me become better and stronger. This also reminds me of how merciful and powerful the Lord is that He is able to make my weakness become my strength if I will only be humble. And one of the things that I believe He wants for me to be better and stronger is by obtaining an education – no matter how hard it takes, simply because I believe He is there to lift me up and help me succeed.

Latter-day Saint Missionary Assignments Go Online

Young men, young women and senior couples preparing to serve as full-time missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are getting a quicker, more convenient way to open their mission calls.

The Church is rolling out a new initiative in which missionary candidates receive their assignments online instead of in the mail. This process has been tested in various parts of the world for the past several months and will now be expanded to all of Utah and Idaho.
By the end of 2018, it is anticipated that nearly all missionaries around the world with reliable internet access will receive their calls online to serve in one of the Church’s 407 missions in more than 150 countries.

“Technology is there, and it’s so easy to do,” said Elder Brent H. Nielson, executive director of the Missionary Department. “We just put it online and they can read it in a matter of minutes.”

Previously, missionary candidates have had to wait days or weeks to receive their mission calls by mail. With this new process, they will receive an email and, in some cases, a text message informing them that their call is ready to open. Once the missionary is ready — with family and friends nearby — they can access their call letter using a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Elder Nielson said the first young woman in Brazil to open her call online was able to do so within three hours of receiving it, whereas it normally would have taken her weeks to get it by mail.

In addition to cutting down on waiting time, Elder Nielson said this will help the Church expedite visa applications and save on postage costs.

Besides the call letter, missionaries can immediately access all mission materials online, including maps, country information and lists of items to bring. Call letters and related materials can also be printed and downloaded for remembrance and record keeping.

Missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serve as volunteers at their own expense. Young men ages 18 and older serve for two years, while young women who are 19 and older are in the mission field for 18 months. Senior missionaries generally serve from six months up to two years, after their retirement from the workforce.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), also known as Latter Day Saints, has had a presence in India since the 19th century. Today there are local members, missionaries and multiple meetinghouses of the LDS Church in the country.

Joseph Richards first introduced the faith to India in 1851, when he arrived in Calcutta. There was a small branch organized in Calcutta, India. But most of the members were migrated to the USA. As per the church's policy that all members were invited to gather in one place. The main reason was to build the church and strengthen the Priesthood Leadership. It was the right moment that the Lord revealed his purpose through the appointed Leaders. Though many members of this branch migrated to the USA, a small group of members continued to have meetings in Calcutta. The branch exists in Salt Lake city in Calcutta India till now.

As per the Church history in India, there were early missionaries who visited Madras, now known as Chennai, Bombay was now known as Mumbai and some other places in India who taught the gospel. In fact, there were missionaries visiting Tajmahal in Agra, India and teaching the tourists which were filmed in one of the church video called "The Ancient America Speaks" produced by the Church in 1974. There were many events in Church history in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The golden history started in 1963 at Coimbatore. This was revealed by President John Aki, then Temple President of the Hong Kong China Temple during the year 2011. Some of the first families sealed in the Hong Kong China Temple by Elder Anthony D Perkins who was the Asia Area President at that time. President Perkins saw that Membership in the Church in that part of India would grow. The movement increased in India by 1993, when Mormon missionaries began proselytizing in Bangalore.
