The general procedure includes:
Sankalp (resolution/intention)
Ganesh Puja
Varni (assigning the priest authority to perform the ritual)
Kalash Sthapana – स्थापना of a water-filled sacred pot (Kalash)
Mantra Chanting – the priest chants Vedic mantras and energizes the Kalash
Sprinkling Holy Water – the sanctified water is sprinkled over the house and individuals
Dev Puja – worship of deities and seeking blessings
