Today, the President of Markazi Auqaf-i-Islamia Verinag, Haji Farooq Ahmad Khan, raised key demands concerning Verinag before the J&K National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah Sahab, and the Minister for Health and Education, Sakina Itoo Sahiba, during a one-day National Conference convention held at Dooru.
The key demands raised by the President include:
Upgradation of the Primary Health Centre Verinag.
Establishment of a separate Municipal Committee for Verinag town, which has long suffered neglect and injustice under the existing Municipal Committee Dooru-Verinag.
Sanctioning and construction of the Kapran–Desai Road, which remains a long-pending demand of the people.
And other developmental issues related to the welfare of Verinag.

For countless generations, the waters of this sacred spring have flowed, nourishing all who come to it—without regard for religion, region, caste, or creed. This spring, the very lifeblood of Verinag, embodies the town’s spirit of inclusion, where nature’s gifts transcend all boundaries.
Any attempt to tarnish the legacy of this historic town or sow discord among its people is utterly intolerable and a direct threat to the peace and harmony Verinag has long upheld. The individual responsible for these harmful statements must publicly apologize to the people of Verinag for their reckless words. We call upon all political candidates to embrace the principles of democracy and conduct themselves with integrity, honouring the heritage and unity of this land. Furthermore, the administration must take swift action against those fringe elements intent on dividing society along regional or sectarian lines. The timeless message of coexistence, symbolized by Verinag’s ever-flowing spring, must remain undisturbed, a legacy of unity for generations to come.

Haji Farooq Ahmed Khan Sahab, the President of Markazi Auqaf-i-Islamia Verinag, expressed deep sorrow and sadness regarding the tragic fire incident at Idara Tehqiqati Islamia Islamabad. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences and urged people to come forward generously with substantial donations to support the Idara Tehqiqati Islamia Islamabad. President Khan Sahab emphasized that this esteemed Islamic institution holds a significant historical importance as one of the oldest, relentlessly serving the cause of Islam with utmost passion and dedication.

Furthermore, President Khan Sahab extended his gratitude towards the swift and commendable efforts of the Fire and Emergency Department, whose immediate response helped in containing the fire, thereby saving precious lives and mitigating further property damage. Initial assessments reveal that the Idara Tehqiqati Islamia Islamabad has incurred a staggering loss exceeding one crore rupees, including invaluable rare books lost to the flames.
