"History has ignored us, but we will no longer stay silent."
President Markazi Auqaf-i-Islamia Jamia Masjid Shareef Verinag Kashmir Haji Farooq Ahmad Khan, has called for Tehsil Shahabad Bala to be declared a Hill District. Living in a "Bala" (hilly) region comes with challenges that the government has failed to address for years.
The historical town of Verinag has been left behind while others moved forward. We are asking for compensation for these historical wrongs. Granting us Hill District status is the first step toward true justice.
