सानन्दमानन्द-वने वसन्तं आनन्द-कन्दं हत-पाप-वृन्दम् ।
वाराणसी-नाथमनाथ-नाथं श्रीविश्वनाथं शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥
Sananda mananda vane vasantam,
Mananda kandam hata papa vrindam |
Varanasi natha manatha natham,
Shrivishwanatham sharanam prapadye ||
[ I seek the protection of the Parameshwara of the Universe,
who resides happily in the forest of the joy and is the basis of
all happiness, who dest
roys all accumulated sins, who is the
Lord of the city of Varanasi and the ishvara of all. ]
हिन्दू धर्म में कहते हैं कि प्रलयकाल में भी इसका लोप नहीं होता। उस समय भगवान शंकर इसे अपने त्रिशूल पर धारण कर लेते हैं और सृष्टि काल आने पर इसे नीचे उतार देते हैं। यही नहीं, आदि सृष्टि स्थली भी यहीं भूमि बतलायी जाती है। इसी स्थान पर भगवान विष्णु ने सृष्टि उत्पन्न करने का कामना से तपस्या करके आशुतोष को प्रसन्न किया था और फिर उनके शयन करने पर उनके नाभि-कमल से ब्रह्मा उत्पन्न हुए, जिन्होने सारे की रचना की। अगस्त्य मुनि ने भी विश्वेश्वर की बड़ी आराधना की थी और इन्हीं की अर्चना से श्रीवशिष्ठजी तीनों लोकों में पुजित हुए तथा राजर्षि विश्वामित्र ब्रह्मर्षि कहलाये।
सर्वतीर्थमयी एवं सर्वसंतापहारिणी मोक्षदायिनी काशी की महिमा ऐसी है कि यहां प्राणत्याग करने से ही मुक्ति मिल जाती है। भगवान भोलानाथ मरते हुए प्राणी के कान में तारक-मंत्र का उपदेश करते हैं, जिससे वह आवगमन से छुट जाता है, चाहे मृत-प्राण्ाी कोई भी क्यों न हो। मतस्यपुराण का मत है कि जप, ध्यान और ज्ञान से रहित एवंम दुखों परिपीड़ित जनों के लिये काशीपुरी ही एकमात्र गति है। विश्वेश्वर के आनंद-कानन में पांच मुख्य तीर्थ हैं:-
दशाश्वेमघ,
लोलार्ककुण्ड,
बिन्दुमाधव,
केशव और
मणिकर्णिका
और इनहीं से युक्त यह अविमुक्त क्षेत्र कहा जाता है |
A temple dedicated for Lord Shri Vishwanath by strict follower of Advaita Vedanta School further become one of Sanatan Dashanami Monastic Tradition monk named Swāmī Hariharānanda Sarasvatī urf Dharamsamrat Swami Karpatri Ji. On 5th Jan 1958, Swami Karpatri Ji decalred 'On celebration of Shivraatri we establish new Vishwanath Temple in Kashi' because No one born or nothing interupt or change our traditional Sanatan Vedic-worship ritual or Vedic Decree. Yes,If Government accepts the solemn ceremony with all appropriate ritual of Old Vishwanath Temple then we agree to lost our view or words. For new begin on 09th Feb 1958 or the 6th night of the new moon, in the dark fortnight(krishan paksha) during the month of Phalgun, in the Vikram Samvat 2014 Saadhaarana early morning at Mir Ghat, Benares lay foundation for New Vishwanath Jyotirling or ज्योतिर्लिङ्ग Temple. On 16th feb 1958 or the 3rd night of the old moon, in the moon-light fortnight(shukla paksha) during the month of Phagun, in the Vikram Samvat 2014 Saadhaarana with all vedic rituals and principles the ritual of consecration in which the consciousness or power of the deity is brought into the image awakens the icon in a temple.According to our vedic sanatan dharam priciple it is only after this rite is properly performed that worship should be offered to the murti or idol. At present days also due to same vedic sanatan tenet, except duty Brahmin's no live human is allowed to the sanctum sanctorum. Brahmananda Saraswati disciples included Swami Shantānand Saraswati, Transcendental Meditation founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Swāmī Swarūpānanda Saraswatī and Swami Karpatri.
