Sukhada Ministries is a ministry functioning in the Kandanad East Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian church under the leadership of H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasius.
Mission
Sukhada's main focus is to spread the good news and to provide rejenevation and spiritual growth in people, especially those who are in hard trials and in tribulations.
Description
Sukhada's main focus is to spread the good news and to provide rejenevation and spiritual growth in people, especially those who are in hard trials and in tribulations. The initiatives of the ministry includes the Sukhada Retreat Center, Sukhada Voice, Sukhada Vision, Sukhada Balagram, Sukhada Suvishesha Yatra, Sukhada book store, Sukhada prayer cell. Its activities are centered around kolenchery. Sukhada spreads its activities to other parts of the world by conducting regular residential retreats, field ministries and Charitable activities to witness Christ.

H.G. Augen Mar Dionysius: A Life of Prayer and Service to the Poor
H.G. Augen Mar Dionysius thirumeni was a great spiritual leader of the Malankara Indian Orthodox Church. He was born on July 1, 1955 as the son of Mr. Mathai Kurian and Mrs. Saramma Kurian. He was a brilliant student and completed his degree in B.Sc Physics and post graduate degree in History. Later he joined the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam and completed his theological studies in 1980 and passed out as the best outgoing student.

He was ordained as a deacon on May 21, 1979. He was ordained as a priest (Fr. Zachariah Perangattu) on August 30, 1980 by His Holiness Baselius Marthoma Mathews I, the Catholicos of the East. He was elevated as Remban (Very. Rev. Augen Ramban) on December 5, 1992 by H.H. Baselius Marthoma Mathews II. He was elevated as a Metropolitan (H.G. Augen Mar Dionysius) on March 5, 2005.

He had served many roles including the Secretary of the Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Mathews I for 16 years, Manager of Devalokam Aramana, Manager of Valikattu dayara, Diocese secretary of Kottayam Central, President of the Baselios Charitable Society and Resident Manager of the Engineering College, Peerumedu.

He took over as the Metropolitan of Idukki diocese on July 1, 2005. During the two years of his tenure as the metropolitan, there has a diligent effort to address many of the issues faced by the people. He has provided effective leadership for the reconstruction of churches and other projects benefiting the poor people of Idukki. During his lifetime he dedicated himself to HIS Heavenly Father's will and served the poor. His life was a life of prayer and service to the poor.

H.G. Augen Mar Dionysius passed away in an accident on June 6, 2007. He was on his way to distribute books to poor students. He lived serving the poor and he died serving the poor. On June 07, 2007, he was laid to rest at Valikattu Dayara. May his soul rest in peace. May all of us be inspired by his life and service to the poor. May his prayers guide us.

Mathews Mar Barnabas was born as one of a set of twins to Kuruvilla and Mariamma, a couple of the Kidangethu Thompra family in Kallarackaparampil house at Vengola, he had his higher education at Madras Christian College, Osmania University, and Serampore University. He was ordained as deacon in 1943 and priest in 1951.
Malankara Association held in 1977 elected Rev. Fr. K. K. Mathews as a metropolitan of the church. On May 15, 1978, H.H. Baselios Mar Thoma Mathews I consecrated him as bishop at Pazhanji Church, with the ecclesiastical title Mathews Mar Barnabas and appointed as assistant bishop of the Ankamali and Kottayam Dioceses.
He had served as auxiliary bishop of the Angamaly and the Kottayam dioceses before taking charge as the first metropolitan of the Idukki diocese.
In addition to his long stint as head of the American diocese, Mar Barnabas had functioned as manager of the Orthodox Corporate Management, among other responsibilities.
He did his intermediate studies at C.M.S. College, Kottayam, B.Sc. Degree course from Christian College Madras and M.Sc. degree from Osmania University.
He began Theological studies under the guidance of his uncle Rev. Fr. K. P. Paulose. In 1949 he joined the Orthodox Theological Seminary as a special student and studied Syriac for two years. While he was the vicar of the Calcutta parish, he studied in the Bishop’s College, Calcutta and earned his B. D. degree from the Serampore University, as an external student.
His Holiness Catholicos Baselios Geevarghese II ordained him as a deacon in 1943, at his home parish, St. Thomas Cheriapally, Thuruthipaly, Vengola. In 1951 Metropolitan Augen Mar Thimotheos (His Holiness Catholicos Baselios Augen I), ordained him to the holy priesthood.
In 1982 he was appointed as the metropolitan of the newly formed Idikki Diocese. In 1993, H.G. Mathews Mar Barnabas was appointed as the diocesan metropolitan of American Diocese.
