His Eminence Dzongchen Polu Trulku Rinpoche Rigdzin Jigmed was born in 1980 in Dechencholing, a small valley north of Thimphu, Bhutan, where the highly learned Nyingma master and yogi Polu Khenpo Thubten Kunga Gyaltshen (1896–1970) once resided.
