Heartfelt congratulations to The Rt Revd & Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally on her historic confirmation as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury.

Her first act as Archbishop—taking up the Primatial Cross and offering the blessing—beautifully reflected humility, faith, and servant leadership. The affirmation from the Archbishop of York, “Be yourself. For it is you that God has called,” speaks profoundly to this moment.

The inclusive nature of the service, with contributions from diverse church and community groups across the Anglican Communion, resonates deeply with the fraternal relationship shared between the Church of England and the CSI Synod—a bond rooted in unity, mutual respect, and shared mission.

At a time when the Church is called to witness courage and compassion, women’s leadership at the highest level is not only a sign of hope but a blessing for the whole Church and society. May her ministry strengthen justice, reconciliation, and inclusive discipleship across the global Communion.
