Jagadguru Sri Madhwacharya (1238-1317), the proponent of Tatwavada or Dwaita Siddhanta and the third incarnation of Lord Vayu, consecrated the idol of Kadagolu Krishna, which was created by Vishwakarma under the auspices of Lord Krishna during Dwapara Yuga, at Udupi, which is also called as Rajatapeethapura. lgrim center called Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt. Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt is one of the most famous Hindu temples in the country. The Mutt, with Sri Chandramouleshwara and Sri Anantheshwara temples, is surrounded by Ashta Mutts and is in the north-eastern direction of Sri Anantheshwara temple. Udupi is about 56 km from Mangaluru and 403 km from Bengaluru. A special feature of this temple is that the idol of the presiding deity, Lord Krishna, is seen only through a square-shaped window called “Navagraha Kindi” and “Kanakana Kindi”. The Navagraha Kindi is a window with nine 4-inch-square holes, opposite the idol of Sri Krishna. This window is adorned with idols of Jaya and Vijaya on either side. The “Kanakana Kindi” is at the centre of the wall of Chandrashala and opposite the idol of Lord Krishna. Since Kanakadasa used to see the Lord only through this hole, it has been named after him as “Kanakana Kindi”.
