Mangalya Marriage Project: A Ministry of Hope and Compassion
The Womenโs Fellowship of the CSI South Kerala Diocese has successfully implemented the Mangalya Marriage Project, through which eight couples have recently entered the sacred covenant of marriage.
Mangalya is more than a programme providing financial assistance for marriage. It is a meaningful expression of the Churchโs commitment to social responsibility, compassion, dignity, and family life. Through this initiative, young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds receive valuable support to fulfil their dreams of marriage and begin their family life with greater confidence and hope.
Since its inception in 2016, the Mangalya Project has supported 134 beneficiaries, reflecting the sustained commitment of the CSI South Kerala Diocese to strengthening families and promoting the welfare of young people. The assistance provided towards marriage expenses, gold ornaments, and a fixed deposit offers newly married couples a stronger foundation for their future family life.
The project has received special leadership and guidance from Rt. Rev. Dr. Princeton Ben Thirumeni and Dr. T. T. Praveen, MLA, whose vision, commitment, and concern for the community have contributed significantly to the growth and wider humanitarian significance of the Mangalya initiative.
The Mangalya Project stands as a beautiful testimony to the Churchโs mission to proclaim the Gospel not only through words but also through practical expressions of Christโs love, compassion, and social responsibility.
The Womenโs Fellowship and all those associated with the Mangalya Project extend their heartfelt congratulations to the eight newly married couples and express sincere appreciation to everyone who has contributed to this noble ministry.
May God bless every couple with love, peace, mutual understanding, good health, and a Christ-centred family life. May the Mangalya Project continue to bring hope and dignity to many more families and remain a lasting testimony to the Churchโs ministry of compassion and social transformation.
This is an FLB FM Radio report. Warmest congratulations and prayerful wishes to all the newly married couples. May their journey together be filled with Godโs abundant grace and blessings.
