it is one of the rare Temples in the whole of India wherein Sri Dhakshinamurthy is the Presiding Deity.
This Temple is also known as Guru Sthalam.
Generally Sri Dhakshinamurthy is seen South facing in other temple but in this Temple the Presiding Deity is known as Sri Yoga Gnana Dhakshinamurthy and hence He is seen North facing in a seated posture.
In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Yoga Dhakshinamurthy is 9 Feet tall. In this Temple the Presiding Deity of Sri Yoga Gnana Dhakshinamurthy portrays Himself as a Guru or Teacher of Wisdom, Yoga and Music.
