Step 1. : Apply Chandan / Kumkum / Turmeric on top of the Kubera Yantra and place it before Kubera Idol / Photo
Step 2: Take sankalpa. (Sankalpa – Spiritual resolve/Vow) Take a oath infront of Kubera with your name, relevant details (Parents name, Gothra, Nakshatra) and brief Kubera about your wishes and problem and inform him that you will do the japa 720 times a day (Vimshati Saptashata) for 108 days (Astotra Dhina) totalling 72000 times japas ( Dvi Saptathi Sahasra Avarthi) with a request to remove the problems and fulfil the wishes and help you to improve the monetary situation and increase the wealth to many folds.
Step 3. Flowers to be used for the puja: It is highly beneficial if you use Lotus flower for the Kubera Puja. But we may not get Lotus throughout the year. The next best option is to use Tulsi Leaves. Red Coloured flowers are also recommended by many texts.
