VelekkatKuttichathan temple is located in Kazhibram. It’s 9km from triprayar. . All developmental and other programmes connected with the temple are going on under supervision of a committee. The temple committee plays an important role in temple activities. The committee was formed in1989. Lots of people contribute for the temple’s development. The temple festival is conducted annually on the Makaram 19th, 20th,21st(Malayalam Month).During this period lot of people come to the temple from various places. It’s a local festival of Mudappilavil and surrounding areas. The important temple programmes during the festival time are kodiyattam, vallattu, pooja, elaneer varavu, ayudham ezhunallathu, thalapoli varavu, thandan varavu, pookkalasam varavu, vallattu and thirayattu, last vaalakam koottal. The thandanvaravu is coming from thanakkandi temple. Thandan has very important role in temple. Another important thing is pookkalasam, pookkalasam is offered to God and it’s a celebration moment especially for youth. During the festival time there is thalapoli(lamps) where the small girls carry thalapoli,it s for Bhagavathi. During festival time special pooja’s are conducted in temple .Brahmmasree Kattumadum Anilnamboodiri is the “tantri”(priest) and Ayadam narayanan namboodiri is “melsanthi”(priest) of temple. The prathishtadinam is conducted annually on the makeryam day of Edavam month(Malayalam month). The popularity of the temple is increasing day by day.
