Bengaluru residents may soon have to pay up to ₹25,000 a year to park vehicles on public roads outside their homes under the draft GBA (Parking) Rules, 2026. The proposed annual fee is ₹15,000 for hatchbacks, ₹20,000 for sedans and ₹25,000 for SUVs. Residents would need a valid residential parking permit, while parking would be allowed only on designated roads and subject to minimum road and pedestrian space requirements. The Karnataka government has invited objections and suggestions on the draft rules.
