CSI: Built by Faithful Hands, Guarded by Law, United in Christ๐๐ป
The Church of South India was not born in haste, nor shaped by private ambition.
In 1947, it rose from prayer and sacrificeโ
a sacred union of missionaries and devoted local leaders,
who gathered many traditions and made them one Body in Christ.
Anglican and Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalโ
they did not compete; they covenanted.
Their unity was sealed not only in faith,
but also in law, through the Church of South India Trust Association,
entrusting CSI with its churches, its mission, and its future.
---
โ๏ธ What the Law Protects
The law does not silence faithโit safeguards it.
CSI stands as a legally recognized body.
Its properties, its institutions, and its ministries
are held in trust by CSITA for the whole Church.
Parallel paths may be chosenโ
new churches may be formed, new societies may riseโ
but the name โCSI,โ its identity and inheritance,
cannot be borrowed, copied, or claimed.

๐ The Living Witness of Mateer Memorial CSI Church
Mateer Memorial CSI Church carries a quiet testimony of time:
Worship lifted since 1838
The present church building raised in 1906
Lives touched through mission support and community empowerment,
housing, education, and works of mercy
This story was written within CSI,
under its care, its discipline, and its shared calling.
To rewrite it through parallel banners
is not reformโit is forgetting.
---
๐ซ When Unity Is Fractured
Where parallel societies rise,
Authority becomes uncertain
A few speak louder than the many
Mission gives way to litigation
Identity fades, and witness weakens
Division wears the mask of reform,
but leaves the Church smaller, not stronger.
---
๐ The Gospelโs Whisper
The Gospel does not shoutโit calls.
Not to scatter, but to gather.
Not to divide, but to renew.
True reform walks within the household,
speaks truth under the same roof,
and heals without breaking communion.
Even the Reformation sought renewal of faith,
not rival names, not competing trusts.
CSI itself was born of such courageโ
many streams, flowing as one river.
---
โ ๏ธ A Gentle Warning
Leaders will pass.
Councils will change.
But the Church endures.
To walk away carrying the Churchโs name
is to take what was never personal.
If a new path is chosen, let it be honestโ
new name, new structure, new identity.
---
โ๏ธ The Last Word
CSI was built by faithful hands,
protected by law,
and held together by grace.
Let reform rise from within,
let unity be preserved,
and let the mission continueโ
as one Church, one body, one witness.
Not by breaking away,
but by standing together.
