The Immanuel Mar Thoma Church, Paruthippara is the second in line to be formed as a Mar Thoma parish in Trivandrum city. The early settlers of Mar Thoma church in and around Kattachakonam [present day Kesavadasapuram and Parottukonam] who were members of the Pattoor Edavaka wanted a prayer hall nearby and started looking around for a suitable place. In 1957, Pattoor Edavaka bought 17.5 cents of la

Foundation stone was laid in 1971 and the new church building was dedicated on 2nd October 1972 by His Grace the Most Rev. Yuhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan. With many good schools and colleges [both regular and professional] coming up as well as the availability of medical facility and other attractive factors, more and more Mar Thomites came and settled around Paruthippara and membership increased in the Edavaka. Over the past years, there has been a steady increase in membership and it has now reached phenomenal figures
