ABOUT POURNAMIKAVU TEMPLE

The main deity of Pournamikavu temple is Shri Bala Tripura Sundari Devi (the war-goddess of Aay Dynasty). The temple is also called as Akshara Devatha temple, because of the consecration and worship of all the 51 idols of Akshara devathas (Alphabet godesses) for the first time in the World. This temple is situated at Venganoor, Trivandrum, Kerala. It is a temple which op

ens only on the full moon (pournami) day and also on some special occasions like Navaaham, Festival, Vidhyarambham etc. On the day of opening, it is almost like a festival and thousands of devotees visit the temple from various places across the globe; inorder to offer their plea to the Goddess mainly for curing their diseases, accomplishment of their desires, to find and settle their kula devathas, finding solutions to their issues, and so on. The entry is allowed for all, irrespective of their religion, caste. The temple is also famous for the Biggest Panjamukha (5-faced) Ganesha idol carved out of Krishna Shila in single stone (200cms tall), largest Nagaraja idol in single stone (275cms tall), World's largest Panjaloha idol (Pournamikavu Devi's idol is 6.5ft tall, 1300kgs in weight) and so on. On Pournami day, various rituals performed at the temple includes, Maha Ganapathi Homam, Akshara devatha pooja, Saraswathi Pooja, Sarva Shaapa dosha shanthi pooja, Lakshmi Pooja, Pournami Pooja, Kalasha Pooja, Kalasha abhisheka, Sri Chakra Pooja, Panja Shakthi Pooja, KaryaSidhi pooja, Chandika Homam, Gurusi Pooja, Naagar Pooja, Sarpa dosha nivarana pooja, Kula devatha pooja, Kaala sarpa dosha shanthi pooja, Mruthyunjaya pooja etc. The devotees also take the ghee-lamp to offer their prayers to the Goddess; which is called as 'Deepa Pradhakshinam'. The temple also involves in charity activities like serving free & unlimited food for all the devotees on the Pournami Day from morning to midnight, distributing free study materials to students, distributing grocery kits to the poor etc. The temple is located at Chavadinada, Venganoor, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is about 5 kms away from Kovalam, 2.1 kms from Vizhinjam (Harbour), 15 kms from Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple, 17 kms from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, 15 kms from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station.

അഗ്നിയുടെ സപ്തജിഹ്വകൾ (ഏഴു നാക്കുകൾ) 🔥
അഗ്നി ഭഗവാന് ഏഴു ജ്വാലകളുണ്ടെന്നും അവ ഓരോന്നും ഓരോ പ്രത്യേക സ്വഭാവത്തെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നുവെന്നുമാണ് മുണ്ഡകോപനിഷത്ത് വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നത്. യജ്ഞങ്ങളിൽ അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഹവിസ്സുകളെ അഗ്നി സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നത് ഈ ഏഴു നാക്കുകൾ വഴിയാണ്:
കാളി (Kali): കറുത്ത നിറത്തിലുള്ള ജ്വാല. ഇത് കാലത്തെയും സംഹാരശക്തിയെയും സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
കരാളി (Karali): ഭയങ്കരമായ രൂപത്തോടു കൂടിയ ജь്വാല. തിന്മകളെ ഭസ്മീകരിക്കുന്ന രൂപം.
മനോജവ (Manojava): മനസ്സിന്റെ വേഗതയുള്ള ജ്വാല. ആഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ വേഗത്തിൽ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലെത്തിക്കുന്നു.
സുലോഹിത (Sulohita): നല്ല ചുവപ്പ് നിറത്തിലുള്ള മനോഹരമായ ജ്വാല. ഐശ്വര്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകം.
സുധൂമ്രവർണ്ണ (Sudhumravarna): പുകനിറത്തോടു കൂടിയ ജ്വാല. ഇത് പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിലെ നിഗൂഢതകളെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
സ്ഫുലിംഗിനി (Sphulingini): സ്ഫുരണങ്ങളോടു (തീപ്പൊരികൾ) കൂടിയ ജ്വാല. തേജസ്സിന്റെ പ്രസരണം.
​വിശ്വരുചി (Vishwaruchi): സർവ്വവ്യാപിയായ പ്രകാശം. എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നതുമായ ജ്വാല.

കൂടാതെ രാവിലെ മുതൽ നിരവധി കലാപരിപാടികളും ക്ഷേത്ര നടയിൽ നടക്കുന്നതാണ്.
രാവിലെ 4 മണി മുതൽ രാത്രി 10 മണി വരെ നട തുറന്നിരിക്കുമെന്ന് ക്ഷേത്രം ഭാരവാഹികൾ അറിയിച്ചു.
