Avukkulam Sreekantashastha Buddha Palli This is an ancient Buddha Palli near to Chempazhanthy.. The idol here is a perfect BODHISATHVA blessing the world...

Originally a Buddha vihara of the Cheras (pulayas), took over and abandoned by the brahmins, now under a trust and is a an Ayyappa temple..The Bodhisathva idol taken from here is kept at Chempazhanthy Shree Narayana gurukulam... This place is also near to Buddhankod now renamed as Pothenkod which is surrounded by numerous Buddha Pallis and a cave temple called Madavoorpara .

The Bodhisatva statue standing at Sree Narayana Gurukulam, Chempazhanthy... This was taken from this Palli some 70 years ago by Swami Dharmatheerthar (കെ. സി. പരമേശ്വരമേനോൻ, ഗുരുവായൂരിനടുത്ത് ചാത്തനാട്ട് തറവാട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ചു. ) and placed at Gurukulam nearby....
