The twelfth-century Thiruvakkarai Vakra Kaliamman Devi Temple is unique in many aspects. The main idol of Kali is slightly bent to one side with eight hands. She wears a small baby as an ornament in one ear and the skull of a dead person as her crown.

Story :

Vakrasura, a demon, did penance for Lord Shiva. Pleased, Shiva granted him the boon of immortality. Naturally, the arrogant Vakrasura, armed with his boon, ganged up with his equally obnoxious sister Dhurmukhi.

Gods approached Shiva, who delegated Vishnu to slay the demon, and Goddess Parvati to kill Dhurmukhi. Dhurmuki was pregnant. Killing a pregnant woman is a sin per Vedas, so Goddess Parvati took the form of “Vakra” Kali, rescued the fetus, and wore it as her earring, then killed the demoness. And thus, she came to be known as Vakrakali.

Angkor Wat is now called the eighth wonder of the world!​ A Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu built during the Khmer Hindu Empire in Cambodia later became a Buddhist temple. Angkor Wat is spread across a mammoth 402 acres and is also the world's largest religious structure as per the Guinness World Records. Angkor Wat is also featured in the National flag of Cambodia.

“𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚” is a 9th-century Hindu temple compound in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, in southern Java, Indonesia.

It's dedicated to the Trimūrti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva).

Originally built in 850 CE during the reign of the Hindu Sanjaya Dynasty.

To promote Religious Tourism in Sikkim, this newly developed Pilgrimage-cum-Cultural Centre is constructed on top of the Solophok Hill in South-Sikkim. View for miles, the 26½ m high statue of Lord Shiva in sitting posture that marks the location of the main temple. Apart from this giant statue, the replicas of twelve Jyotirlingas along with the four Dhams; Badrinath, Jagannath, Dwarka and Rameshwaram are also installed in the complex (7 acres approx). This stunning imitation of chardham amidst the serene nature of Sikkim, has become one of the top tourist destinations in Sikkim, especially among the devotees of Lord Shiva.
