Sharon Bible College was founded in 1950 by Rev. Thomas. It was his deep desire to train young men and women for the Lord’s Ministry. Immediately after purchasing the land at the heart of Tiruvalla town he conducted great crusades and revival meetings. The great revival meetings of Allen made Dr. Thomas to start the pioneer work at Tiruvalla. The small beginning of Sharon Bible Institute in his ow

n house has been flourished within this 65 years. The school started with one year intensive training and later three years diploma in Theology programme was offered in Malayalam. In 1984 the institute started a four years B.Th. programme in English and two years G.Th programme and one year C.Th. programme in Malayalam. From 1986 onwards Sharon Bible College began to present students for Serampore B.Th. Degree examination (external). By realizing the challenges and the importance of women ministry, by the initiative of Mrs. Thomas, Sharon Bible College started the training programme for women in Malayalam medium. This was the first Pentecostal institute for women in India. Sharon Bible College is an educational institution and is a registered charitable society. Realizing the present need of reputed degree programme, Sharon Bible College has become an accredited member of Asia Theological Association (ATA). Now we are offering M.Div, B.Th and Dip.Th accredited by ATA.

The first semester seminar (The topic: From Postmodern Relativism to the Collapse of Truth in the Post-Truth Era') was held on July 30th at the college chapel. Dr. Shaibu Abraham ( Professor of Christian Theology and the Director of the D. Min programme at IBC&S, Kerala) was the resource person. The major discussion of the seminar was how a theological student should respond to this era where unreal and untruths are becoming more acceptable, and where lies are spreading rapidly. Dr. Shaibu presented the profound and relevant thoughts in a lucid and simple manner. The seminar featured timely and relevant thoughts that opened the eyes of the participants. Rev. Sam K Jacob, the Principal of SBC was the presider of the seminar.

Sharon Bible College Thiruvalla conducted a special meeting on 4th July 2024 to honour Rev. M J John and his wife Mrs. Grace John for their meritorious service to the institution. The students, teachers, staff, alumni and Sharon Fellowship Church leaders were present. Rev. John Thomas, The International President of Sharon Fellowship church and the President of Sharon Bible College handed over the memento as a mark of honour to Pastor M J John and Mrs. Grace John.

He could serve as the Principal of this institution for last many years and God has used his leadership skill for the progress of our Bible College. Trustees of the Sharon Bible College have elevated him to PRINCIPAL EMERITUS status. SBC family is grateful to him for his dedicated service, excellent leadership and insight that he gave for the development of this institution for more than four decades. Mrs. Grace John along with her husband sacrificially contributed her talents for the Bible College. His guidance is always a blessing for us.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Rev. SAM K JACOB as the PRINCIPAL of Sharon Bible College, Thiruvalla. He has been serving as the registrar of the college for the past many years. The trustees of Sharon Bible College have decided to elevate him to the principal post and Pr. John Thomas, the president of Sharon Bible College announced it with prayers in the presence of Sharon Fellowship Church leaders, Sharon Bible College teachers, staff, students and alumni on 4th July 2024.

Congratulations dear Sam sir! Your new role is a testament to your incredible work ethic and leadership. We are confident that your dedication and leadership skills will elevate the standards of our institution. God may grant you heavenly wisdom as you lead this institution for years to come.
