Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti
On 24th May '26 evening, NBC celebrated Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti and presented a small yet compact programme named
রবীন্দ্র-নজরুল-চির প্রবহমান দুই ধারা
(Rabindra Nazrul chiroprobohoman dui dhara)
comprising of songs, dance, recitation & voice-over at Hiranandani Meadows Clubhouse. The programme was conceptualized, scripted & directed by Jhuma Dutta.
The programme started with lighting the auspicious lamp by Club President Abhijit Chatterjee , LW President Rakhi Chanda, Club Secretary Tamajit Mukherjee , Club Treasurer Shubhabrata Basak and Cultural Secretary Jhuma Dutta.
At the outset , Club President_ Abhijit Chatterjee addressed the audience. In his short speech, he welcomed the members for the programme and reminded them that in 2026 club had stepped into 25th year of its establishment and as such the entire year has been declared as the "Silver Jubilee Year of the Club". He further mentioned that, with this programme, our Silver Jubilee Celebrations has started and going forward many such programmes will be organised. He requested members to send their suggestions for any other programme which might be a part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
Coming back to the programme, he emphasised that the role and influence of these two Legends of Bengal are always there and their poems, songs will guide the Bengalis for many years to come. He further added that their appeals are Eternal or Timeless.
The programme started with an opening song sung by the members.

*The entire programme was Assisted* by Anup Banerjee, Bishwajit Acharjee and Tamajit Mukherjee.
Before the end of the programme all the participants were introduced by Mou Dutta to the audience.
Towards the end of the programme, Club Secretary Tamajit Mukherjee delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to every contributor and attendee. He thanked the members for their participation in the programme and making it a successful one. The evening concluded on a warm note, with members sharing positive feedback on the evening’s memorable moments. A packet of sumptuous refreshments was distributed, adding to the delight.
It was a compact yet impactful programme enjoyed & appreciated by an audience of about 100 people.
Tea/coffee & snacks were also served.
