New Bengal Club - Thane A home away from from home. A Bengali Club in Thane, Maharashtra for the Probashi Bengali to re-live Bengali tradition along with local social commitment.

It was an evening of May 2002. Eight like minded people from different walks of life but with a common vision, decided to do something different with their spare time. A shape was given to a social body and a club was formed with name “New Bengal Club “. The first step towards that was starting the club with Registration under Maharashtra Charitable Trust Act to give it a formal status. The vision

was to bring like minded Bengali speaking people under one roof, to stand by each other in hour of need & to foster a sense of pride and euphemism in our future generation. There are many activities carried out throughout the year. The club is not just a “Cultural Club” but a club with many facets – Durga Puja & various other Puja Celebration, Community Services, Marathi Classes, Bengali Classes, Rabindra Sangeeth Classes to name a few. It is the only club in Thane which has its own premises with a library and a place for the “Adda”. The members are from different walks of life and essentially “the working class nomads” from Bengal. Dear All,

A quick heads‑up: the venue for this year’s *Sri Sri Saraswati Puja* of NBC on 23.01.2026 has been changed to *Hiranandani Meadows Club House*. The Hill Garden Club House and other nearby venues are unavailable, which has necessitated this relocation.

We sincerely thank the NBC members at Hiranandani Meadows for their swift support in securing the new venue.

The detailed programme will be circulated shortly.
