As Per Shiva Puran Linga Purana and summary of many purans and Vedas they are different manifestations of Sadashiva, Adya Shiva. from whom Comes Shiva and Then Rudra or Shankar of Kailasa, and his 10000 th anshas as 11 Rudras. Shiva is also known as Mool Rudra and Mahakaal is also his Form, BUT as per same Purans and Agams. In Worship they are collectively One Param Shiva in ShivaLingam. So all stutis Pauranic ones which you mentioned, and most authentic and powerful Rudrashtdhyayi Rudra Sukta, when ShivaLingam is propitiated with Rudra Sukta Abhishekam or any Shiva Stuti than all these manifestations of Shiva are One absolute Parabramha in and as Shiva Lingam . Which is mainly called as SHIVA by Vedanta Purans and great adwait shastra Yog Vasishtha all Ta**ra agams and Shastras and and top most authority Vedas which talks about absolute Parbramhan final Reality.

Now You talked about Shreeman Narayana, In his own Upanishad Mahanarayana Upnishad Shiva is declared as Final supreme authority the God of all Gods.

In it 12 the anuvak Rishis Declare

Yo devanam Prabhvodbhawasch Vishwadipo Rudro Maharshis

Hiranyagarbham janyamas poorvam sa no shubhua budhya sanyunaktu.

The one who was even before Bramhan, Hiranaygarbha (The one who makes Bramha), That Lord of Universe is known to us (Maharishis) as Rudra No body else, may he keep our intellect in his blissful benevolent state.

Now Vedas say Panch Devas or Shat Devam Bramhan , They are Shree Ganesh, Durga, Shiva, Vishnu and Surya and Shree Kartikeyan as Bramhans. One can be devoted to any one and can reach Salvation. Mainly there are four, Sameepya, Saroopya, Salokya Sayujya The fifth One absolute meyond maya eternal bliss beyond time can only be given by Parbramha Shiva.

In Truth he has no name he is beyond name and form and formlessness he us beyond mind, Name and form is maya, he is beyond maya, or dwait. He is bliss himself.

Shiva becomes Mahanarayana from his left came Mahavishnu who did Tpasaya for 1000 of celestial years, and streams of wtare issued forth so he is called Mahanarayana the who dwells in water. Now by Shivas boon he is also worshiped as Bramhan, Parbramhan is absolutely beyond maya duality which exists till one has name and form, So god in Forms are Bramhans, Only Shiva who is worshipped in Nirakar and Sakara roop both is Parbramhan having power to bestow moksha beyond duality Kiavlaya the The only True one.

So by Shivas Agya Vedas also Praise Narayan and Pnach Devas too Bramhan. Prabramhan is absolutely beyond name and form and formlessness, mind cant understand it, none gods can understand Shiva Only he Knows himself.

THE UNKNOWN STORY OF MAHASHIVARATRI

" LORD MAHESHWARA SHIVA SHANKARA REVEALING HIS GIGANTIC SUPREMEST HOLY DIVINE UNIVERSAL COSMIC FORM " OR
" MAHADIVYA VISHWAVIRAT SWAROOP " Shown to all great god's and goddesses and all beings And Pushpadanta

All God's, Goddesses and pushpadanta said :

What was asked by us , O all-pervasive Lord, that stands as such. Here, an answer was not received from You by us at all, O greatest Lord!

Your body, O Lord – being of limited measure – how is it the origination of all beings, their maintenance and dissolution.?

How are the Deities bound to their respective duties stationed in You? How is it that all of them are one with You? How is it that the fourteen worlds (are one with You).?

O Lord! Even after hearing it from You, there is a great doubt in us. You must deign to dispel the doubt in my mind which suffers from incomprehension.

The Lord Maheshwara Shiva said:

Though the seed of the banyan tree is very tiny, the huge banyan tree always existed in it. Otherwise, how can that tree come out of that seed.?

Similarly, O all gd's and goddesses, the origination and dissolution of the beings take place in My body. Even a large mass of salt easily dissolves in water and is no more visible, but when (that water is) boiled that salt appears as before. 6

Just as light emanates every dawn from the solar sphere, similarly all the universe originates from Me, exists and then merges in Me. Everything is in Me. O all god's and goddesses of noble resolves! Know it thus.

All God's and Goddesses said :

O greatest Lord! Just as for a person confused regarding directions, the confusion is not removed even when correctly informed, similar is our delusion. What shall we do.?

The Lord Maheshwara Shiva said:

O all god's and goddesses ! I will show you all how all this, the moving and the unmoving beings of the world subsist in Me. But you will not be able to see this. O all god's and goddesses , I will endow you all with divine vision. Through that, shedding all fears, behold the expanse of everlasting luminosity of Mine.

My majesty cannot be perceived through physical eyes either by human beings or by celestial beings without My grace.

Having said thus, the Lord blessed all (god's and goddesses) with divine vision. Then they saw the form of the Lord resembling subterranean fire.

Seeing that (form) luminous like millions of lightening flashes and striking intense terror even among the brave, all god's and goddesses in sheer fright, collapsed on their knees to the ground. everyone fell prostrate on the ground and again and again praising (the Lord) then rising, looked as far as they could. They saw the form of the Lord, the Destroyer of Tripura, with sidereal universes inside it looking like she-sparrows, in constellations of luminous blaze.

They saw (within the form of the Lord) the mountains like Meru, Mandara and Vindhyā, the seven seas, the sun and the moon, all the demigod's & goddesses and great Gods & Goddesses and all the elements and many more things
beheld the forests, the holy mountains, the fourteen worlds and the entire cosmic expanse. they saw the battles between the Devas and the Asuras and victory of devas; those born and yet to be born; Vishnu saw the ten incarnations of him and the leelas in those incarnations, Great goddess durga or shakti saw her forms, slaying of mahishashura and her leelas in all her forms and all other god's and goddesses saw their future and leelas in him.

O dvijas, He saw the defeat of the asuras, the burning of Tripura and the extinction of all that is born and yet to be born. Beholding all this, all God's and goddesses filled with fear, prostrated again and again. (At this point) true wisdom dawned on all and they extolled MAHESHWARA SHIVA SHANKARA with meaningful hymns that contain the very essence of the Upanishads.

All God's ,Goddesses and Pushpadanta said :

O Lord! The Destroyer of distress of those who take refuge in You! Be gracious! Be gracious! O Lord of the universe! O, Thou worshipped by the Universe! Be gracious! Thou the Bearer of the Ganges, with moon adorning Your crest! Protect us all, helpless we are, from the fear of births and deaths.

O Lord! This world, indeed, is born only from You, in You alone the created beings live always, O Śambhu! Into You alone they undergo merger, just like trees and creepers into the earth. 23

O Wielder of the trident! Brahmā, Vishnu,Mahavishnu, Ganesha, Mahaganesha Kartikeya,Mahakartikeya, Indra and Rudra,Maharudra, kali, Mahakali , saraswati, Mahasaraswati, lakshmi, Mahalakshmi, durga, Mahadurga, shakti, the Maruts, the Gandharvas, the Yakṣas, Asuras, the community of Siddhas, rivers like the Ganges, the oceans, all of them live in the midst of Your person. O Moon-crested One! Everything is illusorily projected by Your māyā. In You alone, the universe attains perceptibility. All this is perceived by the common people mistakenly (as real), just as silver is seen in a seashell or a rope is mistaken for a snake.

Filling the entire universe with Your splendour, manifesting things by Your own resplendence, O GOD OF EVERYTHING AND ALL, O GOD OF ALL GOD'S AND GODDESSES, without Your light, this universe cannot be perceived even for a moment.

Great things do not rest on flimsy support. One single atom cannot support the Vindhyā mountains. This universe rests on Your person through Your māyā alone. I am convinced now about this.

Just as a fear-causing snake appearing in the rope has not really come into being, nor exists, nor undergoes destruction, similarly is the universe too taking shape in You, through that sheer māyā of Yours, O Nilakaṇṭha.

When it is enquired as to Your body assuming the nature of being, the very basis for the world of manifestation, that itself is seen to be certainly due to our ignorance. Thou art wholly the nature of Consciousness and Bliss.

O Destroyer of Tripura, Thou alone, being praised, bestow upon the enjoyers the fruits of the eminently meritorious acts, performance of Vedic sacrifices and charitable acts. But even this statement is not fully true because there is nothing different from You at all.

The Sages declare those as deluded by ignorance who mistakenly think that Śiva, Lord of the Himālayas, is pleased by external acts of worship and services. How can there be any desire for pleasure for one who is formless? 31

O Supremest Lord! Even the sovereignty of all the three worlds, You bestow as a reward on those people who offer You a leaf or a little water. I deem it all as the work of ignorance.

You pervade all the quarters and the intermediate directions. Thou art the universe, secondless, the infinite and the eternal. Even when this universe become extinct, there is no loss to You, just as there is no detriment to space (within a pot), when the pot is broken.

Just as the one, single Sun in the sky gets its many reflections in various vessels of water, so Thou, O Lord, art (variously) reflected in different minds.

There is nothing to be done by You even when the world is created, protected and dissolved. Even then, You bestow heaven etc. on the souls beginninglessly embodied according to their mortal fruits. It all happens as in a dream.

O Śambhu! For the two inert bodies, the subtle (sūkṣma) and the gross (sthūla) there could be no consciousness without the Self. Therefore, the scriptures, O enemy of Tripura, speak of pleasure and pain experienced through Your reflection in them.

Prostrations to Thee, O Swan in the ocean of Existence and Consciousness; prostrations to Thee, O Blue-Throated One, the very form of Time; prostrations to Thee, the Destroyer of all sins; prostrations to Thee, the one (witness) experiencer of the functions of the mind, which after all is illusory. 37

Suta said :

Prostrating thus before the Lord of the universe, standing with folded hands before Him, the over-awed god's and goddesses praised the supreme Lord in so many words.

All God's,Goddesses and Pushpadanta said :

O Self of the universe! Withdraw this cosmic form of Yours. By Thy grace, O Śambhu, the ocean of the world (of existence) has been seen (by me).

The Lord said:

O god's and goddesses,There is nothing other than I.

Suta said:

Saying thus, the Lord withdrew the Gods and goddesses and the other (forms) and everything into His own form.

Closing his eyes in sheer delight, all god's and goddesses again opened their eyes and saw the Lord standing over the tiger-skin on the crest of the (Himālaya) mountain. They saw Lord Nilakaṇṭha with three eyes , donning the tiger skin, His person adorned with sacred ash, wearing the serpents as His bracelets and sacred thread, wearing matted locks, blazing like lightening. (He saw) the One, the Lord of the universe, with moon on His crest, the supremely adorable, assuring freedom from fear, with four arms, holding a battle-axe, with a deer in one hand.

Then prostrating, all god's and goddesses, at the Lord’s command, sat in front of Him. Then, the God of Gods and goddesses and everything told them , “Whatever you want to ask, O all god's and goddesses, you can ask of Me. There is no preceptor for you other than I.” 45

Thus ends the seventh chapter called the Vision of the Cosmic Form in the form of a dialogue between Śiva and all god's and goddesses in the Śiva-Gītā an upaniṣad delivering Brahma-vidyā, and a yoga śāstra occurring in the Padma Purāṇa.

Blessed children of God !

The worship of the Lord Siva is a symbol of the supreme aspiration of man for the attainment of the perfections of which the Lord is the embodiment.

Renunciation and establishment in Self-consciousness are the two great features of Siva. This demonstrates that absolute Self-centredness is achieved through renunciation. Supreme attainment is the fruit of supreme abandonment. Siva is represented as one who is ever merged in Self-consciousness, which means that God is Self-identical, never different from Himself, never dividing His being into self and non-self. He is Fullness, the Goal of all, where all can find their wishes and ambitions supremely satisfied. Siva is, therefore, the ultimate consummation of life, the perfection of the self or the realisation of the truth. He is Truth itself, which has to be reached through the means of the negation of untruth, i.e., renunciation. He is also the Samharkarta, the destroyer of the universe of duality and multiplicity, the infolder of everything in the supreme Self.

Sivaratri is the night during which the aspirant tries to free himself from the normal animal and human functions, practise perfect self-restraint and attune himself to the Lord. In other words, the aspirant completely resigns his personality to the Supreme Siva and discards his lower nature. He observes ‘Upavasa’, meaning ‘fast’ in the obvious sense and ‘living near’ the Lord, in the esoteric sense. This is coupled with vigil during the night. Hence, it is a physical as well as a mental fast. It is denying food to the body as well as to the mind. In short, it is denying the necessities of the individual, person, which is the same as transcending oneself, in order to be in the ecstatic consciousness of the blissful Siva.

This divine consciousness is not easily generated in a person through ordinary means. Even as the body and the internal organs are negatively made to forgo their natural objective food, they should be positively engaged in the service of the Lord. Otherwise, they will not cease from their habit of becoming barriers to the ascent to the higher consciousness. With this end in view, the devotee or the aspirant performs worship of Siva, physically, verbally and also mentally, so that no aspect of the lower nature may find a chance to manifest its normal activity which is obstructive and even directly injurious to the spiritual aspiration of man. Rudra-Abhisheka with Navaka and Chamaka, Sahasranama-Archana or Laksha-Archana, Kirtan of the hallowed names of the Lord, reading of the Purana extolling His glories, fast, vigil, Japa of His Mantra, meditation on His Swarupa,—all these form the various methods through which the Sadhaka prevents the dissipation of energy and mental force and redirects the same, through sublimation, to the Eternal Source, the Lord, God.

The human being has his life on this earth for the sake of evolving, by means of protracted Sadhana into the Divinity that he is essentially. This truth is brought out in the observance of the Vratas and Niyamas connected with the Sovereign of this universe, the Creator, the Almighty. These vows and Pujas are meant to open the eyes of the sleepy man, now and then, and awaken him to his supreme purpose in life. In the night of ignorance, the man of the world does not see the daylight of the Atman. The gross man is turned towards God through repeated exhortations and persuasions to bring to his mind, at least occasionally, the knowledge of the fact that God is the only Reality and that the attainment of Him alone is the meaning of existence. This is done through advising man to observe disciplinary vows and perform worship. The intelligent Sadhaka, however, should utilize all His time in the pursuit of the spiritual Reality and to him, the whole of life is a continuous Vrata, an unbroken worship, a ceaseless Sivaratri! Therefore O aspirants, let the observance of Sivaratri be the forerunner of your intense and constant Sadhana for God-realisation. Let your entire life be dedicated to Siva! This whole life in this world is "Ratri" or night for you. Observe vigil during this "night" of the world, and spend this night in the worship of Siva, who is Brahman. Remember "Yasyam Jagrati Bhootani Sa Nisha Pashyato Muneh", "That (worldly life) in which all beings are awake is night to the sage with spiritual perception." (Shiva Gita II, 69).

May the blessings of the Parama-Siva be upon you all! May you all attain Salvation.!

Worshipful homage unto the eternal Reality!
The supreme, ultimate Divine Reality baffles thought, reasoning and human language. It is transcendental, beyond time and space, unmanifest. It is beginningless and endless. It is unutterable, imponderable. How can we, bound up in a consciousness limited and confined by time and space, depending solely upon mind and intellect can ever have the possibility of comprehending that great Reality? It would seem impossible. Nevertheless, it is true that the absolute Brahman who is transcendental, eternal, infinite, boundless, unfathomable, immeasurable is at the same time manifested in the relative and finite dimension.
This transcendental Being when manifests in time and space is YOU! Ponder this. That great Brahman, that Divinity, that perfection is YOU! Therefore, be what you are. Live your life as a manifestation of what you are, namely, Divinity. Scatter divinity in everything that you do all the days of your life. And when the time comes, go laughing at the so-called termination of this earth incarnation. For it has no meaning to you. There is no termination. You are eternal, infinite.
Therefore, be what you are. Be awake and aware of this great fact that Brahman manifest in time and space is no other than you. Live as you are. Make your life a manifestation of your truth, of this fact. Live your life filled with a radiant divine quality. Live with joy. Live with light. Spread this joy and light each moment, with each breath, everywhere, all the days of your life.

Lord Shiva in Deep Meditation: Whom does he Meditate upon?

Lord Shiva is the Ultimate Reality. He is both Yogeshwara(Supreme deity of all yoga paths) and Yogishwara, i.e. the Master and teacher of all Great yogis(yoga practitioners/Masters). So, we all meditate on him. In Kundalini Yoga, we merge with Lord Shiva by the help of his consort, Mother Kundalini(Shridevi Parvati).

Generally, in any Lord Shiva’s picture, we see him in a sitting posture engrossed in deep meditation. This is somewhat puzzling! Right?

So, we are now very curious to know:

Whom does the Lord Shiva meditate upon?

It is both funny and intriguing question indeed! Short answer: Lord Shiva meditates upon himself. Now, let us delve into greater depths.

Lord Shiva is the full and complete Ultimate Reality himself. There is no need to meditate on anybody else! In other words, he is always happy and contented being himself. So, he doesn’t have to do anything to seek happiness anywhere outside.

Everything resides within him. So,there is no object of meditation. He is the one and only subject. There is no external object. Here is another interesting question:

You said “Lord Shiva meditates on himself”. But, why?

The supreme bliss(ananda) is the essential nature of Lord Shiva, who is also the Universal Self. It is the Lord’s nature to dwell in his own bliss. According to Scriptures Shaiva agamas, Lord Shiva is static and his dynamic power is Devi Parvathi. So, he sits and meditates. He carries out various activities through his power, i.e. Devi Parvati.

What mantra(sacred phrase) Lord Shiva could be chanting?

Simple! Lord Shiva may contemplate on Shivoham (I am Shiva)or Soham (He is I) mantra.

How? It is common sense! Just ponder for a moment. Since he is Shiva, he can as well say “I am Shiva”! Moreover, because he is the Universal Self ( that force which is beyond and above everything), he may even chant “He is I”. This means “I am He, who controls everything viz. the Ultimate Reality”.

Sounds interesting, right? But, think about it a bit more. If you dig deeper, it becomes very clear that Shiva does not chant anything! Simply because he dwells in pure bliss, where there is no chanting, no mantra or no other second thing. He resides in pure non-dual himself. He is the only One. There is no other one!

What about his consort Parvati? It should be two(Shiva and Parvati), right?

In reality, however, there is only one Shiva. How? Since, Shiva is always one with Parvati, Shridevi Parvati is nothing but Shiva. Thus, it proves that Shiva is only One.

What are the esoteric teachings of Lord Shiva’s meditation?

He is the Supreme Yoga Master(Guru) . So, he is called yogishwara, the Master of all yogis(yoga practitioners). He is the goal and the Lord of yoga (yogeshwara). He is always in asamprajnata samadhi (subjective meditation) abiding within himself. In this state, there is – “I am the only One” feeling which is beyond all dualities(“two/the other” feeling). There is no thinking such as as: “I am different”, “I and other one” etc.

So, by his meditative pose, Lord Shiva conveys the great advaitha(non-duality) philosophy, i.e. myself is not different from the Universal Self. Another teaching by Shiva’s meditation is that we have to meditate upon our own Individual Self with the feeling Shivoham(i.e. “My real me, i.e. Individual Self is Shiva”) to become Shiva!

What a profound message of Lord Shiva’s meditation!

10 Lessons from Lord Shiva You Can Apply To Your Life
★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★ ★★

There is a reason Shiva is called 'The Devo ke Dev-Mahadev'. The tranquil-looking lord can turn into a destroyer, and can also be a bholenath. He has multiple shades to his personality, and is one god who can truly teach us the wisdom to live life. Neha Borkar ji presented with this wonderful view shared with Indiatimes on how we can apply few lessons from parameswar bhagwan shiva. Take a look at 10 lessons we can learn from him.

1.Come what may, you must never tolerate evil

Lord Shiva was known as the destroyer of evil. He couldn't tolerate injustice and destroyed the evil rakshasas in a fair manner. Similarly, even we should try to keep zero tolerance for the evil happening around us and take a stand against injustice.

2. Self-control is the key to living life to the fullest

An uncontrolled mind can lead you to live a disastrous life. You cannot win battles when you lose focus and fall prey to your desires and addictions. Therefore, it’s necessary to keep your mind aligned to your goals and heart too.

3. Keep calm and carry on

Shiva was called a ‘Maha Yogi’ because he meditated for hours for the well-being of the universe. His calm state of mind was disturbed only due to extreme reasons, but otherwise he would always be in a meditative state of mind. Thus highlighting the fact that you can win half the battle just by being calm in a stressful situation. It's really the best strategy to sorting out a problem.

4. Materialistic happiness never stays for long

Take a look at Shiva’s attire for a second. Only armed with a trishul and damru, Lord Shiva always stayed away from wealth. You’re missing out on nothing in life if you’re not attached to wealth and materialistic things. Because materialistic happiness is temporary. You need to find your happiness in events and experiences, and not things.

5. You must learn how to suppress negativity gracefully

Shiva was a ‘neelkanth’ because he swallowed poison named ‘halahala’, that emerged from the ocean. Only Shiva could have consumed this poison and suppressed it in his throat. The important lesson to take back from this incident is to take negativity in our stride, and turn it into positivity.

6. Desires lead to obsessions and obsessions lead to destruction

Since he was free from desires, Shiva never obsessed over things. It is a fact that desires always lead to obsessions, and these in turn make us self-destructive.

7. Respect your better half

Shiva was ‘Ardhanarishwar’, where half of him was Parvati. He treated Parvati with utmost respect and care. She was his ‘shakti’ and he gave her the importance she deserved.

8. You must control your ego and let go off pride

Your ego is the only thing that prevents you from attaining greatness. It is your ego that comes between your goals and your dreams, and makes you a less loving person. It is said that Shiva carried his trishul to keep his ego in check. He never let his ego get the better of himself. On the other hand, nor did he tolerate anyone else’s ego.

9. Do thorough research on something you're likely to get into

The Ganga in Shiva’s hair symbolises the end of ignorance. This implies that you should know what you are getting into. Being in denial about facts is not going to help.

10. Understand that everything is temporary

Maha yogis don’t fall for ‘moh maya’. They know that life is ephemeral and what happens today is not going to exist forever. Time changes and so do we.

Accept yourself! Be you, just the way you are, in the beautiful way only you know how. The way you treat yourself sets the standard for others. You must love who you are or no one else will either. And when you are truly comfortable in your own skin, not everyone will like you, but you won’t care about it one bit. You are powerful when you believe in yourself, when you know that you are capable of anything you put your mind to. You are beautiful when your strength and determination shines as you follow your own path, when you aren’t disheveled by the obstacles along the way.You are unstoppable when you let your mistakes educate you, as your confidence builds from experiences, when you know you can fall down, pick yourself up, and move forward. You are good enough just the way you are. You have nothing to prove to anyone else. Care less about who you are to others and more about who you are to yourself. Do not let the pain make you hopeless. Do not let the negativity wear off on you. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Even though others may disagree with you, take pride in the fact that you still know the world is a beautiful place. Our thoughts are the makers of our moods, the inventors of our dreams, and the creators of our will. Change your thoughts and you change your reality! Love, Light & Gratitude ~ Boom Shankar!

Be grateful for everything in life. Count your blessings, not your problems. There is so much good, so much beauty, so much love in your life. You have so much right now to be thankful for, you just need to pause long enough to appreciate it. So forget your Ifs and Buts and Maybe. They won't help you to be happy. Nor they will get you where you want to be. Past is gone, future you are not certain about. Plant your feet and keep on walking firmly by Focusing on the present. Life is happening right now. You can’t gain something or learn something that’s happening now if your mind is stuck in another time. So surrender to the will of God. And Instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, practice being and living in the present moment. Remember, right now is the only moment guaranteed to you. Right now is life. Don’t miss it.
