THE SAINTS ARE THOSE WHO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD
Revelation 14:12 ...'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'
In other words, here is the endurance of the true people of God. Here is the patient continuance of God's people. Here are they who are NOT deceived by the beast, it's image and it's mark. Here are they who do NOT receive the mark or worship the beast and it's image. WHY? Because they are keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ. THIS IS THE ANSWER to the mark of the beast deception! The keeping of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. This is what the world needs to know. Look at the following verses together:
Isaiah 8:20 ...'To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.'
Revelation 12:17 ...'And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.'
Revelation 14:12 ...'Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.'
Do you see? To the law and to the testimony is how God's true people live, and this is why Satan is wroth with God's true people, because we keep the commandments of God (to the law) and have the testimony of Jesus Christ (to the testimony). What did the apostle John see in vision in Revelation 11 during the blowing of the seventh trumpet?
Revelation 11:19 ...'And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.'
Why did God show John the ark of the testament? What is inside the ark of God's testament? The ten commandments. Remember, this isn't on earth, the verse says that this is in the temple of God IN HEAVEN. And this was shown John about 50-60 years AFTER Jesus' resurrection. So what is God showing the world through John? That the ten commandments of God are still active and binding upon everyone. The whole scene, if you read verse 18 of Revelation 11 also, is a scene of JUDGMENT. And what is God showing we are judged according to? God's holy moral law contained in the ten commandments.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 ...'Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.'
The apostle John already knew this, which is why in his epistle, he said the following:
1 John 5:2-3 ...'By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.'
This is the 'beloved disciple' of Jesus who was closest to Christ and yet many years after Jesus had gone back to heaven, the beloved disciple says that we should be keeping the commandments of God. Look at what the apostle Peter said to the people while preaching to them:
Acts 3:19 ...'Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.'
Repent from what? From sin. What is sin? Again, the beloved disciple John said that "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law" (1 John 3:4). The apostle Paul said ... "by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20). Paul also said ... "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet" (Romans 7:7). Paul is clearly talking of the ten commandments. And all this was written decades after Christ went back to heaven! So clearly, the ten commandments STILL show us what is sin. So what are we doing by not keeping the 4th commandment? Sinning. Thus according to Peter we are to REPENT from breaking the 4th commandment, or any other commandment and be converted to the true ways of God by faith.
So clearly, if the ANSWER to the mark of the beast deception is the keeping of the commandments of God and faith of Jesus, then the mark is NOT going to be simply some sort of technology. It is going to be a law which goes AGAINST God's commandments and the faith of Christ.
