Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever takes the money of the people with the intention of repaying it, Allah will repay it on his behalf, and whoever takes it in order to spoil it, then Allah will spoil him."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأُوَيْسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلاَلٍ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ أَخَذَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ يُرِيدُ أَدَاءَهَا أَدَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، وَمَنْ أَخَذَ يُرِيدُ إِتْلاَفَهَا أَتْلَفَهُ اللَّهُ ‏"‏‏.‏

Don’t Miss the Opportunity of Muḥarram

We have entered the blessed month of Muḥarram, the first month of the Islamic year.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The best fasting after Ramadan is fasting in Allah’s month, Muḥarram.”

(Muslim)

Notice how the Prophet ﷺ called it “Allah’s month.”

This special attribution is a sign of its honor, virtue, and elevated status, for Allah only attributes to Himself the most noble of His creation.

The scholars explained that this hadith encourages fasting abundantly during Muḥarram, especially for those who are able.

As a new Hijri year begins, let us renew our commitment to Allah through repentance, worship, gratitude, and good deeds.

A new year has begun.

Make sure your record begins with something pleasing to Allah.

May Allah make this year a year of faith, blessings, forgiveness, and nearness to Him.

🌍 The World or the Hereafter? 🌍

‘Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and found him lying on a rough mat.

The marks of the mat were visible on his blessed side.

Looking around, ‘Umar saw how little the Prophet ﷺ possessed, and he began to cry.

The Prophet ﷺ asked:

“Why are you crying, O ‘Umar?”

‘Umar replied:

“O Messenger of Allah! Kisra and Caesar live in luxury, while you are the Messenger of Allah and this is all you possess.”

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Are you not pleased that for them is this world, and for us is the Hereafter?”

How many people spend their lives chasing what will eventually be left behind?

Bigger houses...
More money...
More status...
More possessions...

Yet the greatest man who ever walked the earth ﷺ lived a life of simplicity.

Not because he was unable to have more...

But because his heart was attached to something greater.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that this world is temporary...

But the Hereafter is eternal.

💭 If Allah gives you this world, be grateful. But never let the world become greater in your heart than the Hereafter.
